Please Mitch Barnhart, whatever you do, DO NOT even consider John Calipari....That man will destroy the tradition of this program. UK basketball would never be able to recover from him. Please go after Gillispie, Few, Izzo, Crean or Billy D.

 

I agree 1000% on the Calipari thing being a mistake.....I would love to see Mark Few. Izzo would never leave home and MSU+ I would not want him, for all of the Tub Bashers check out Izzos 10+ loss seasons and early exits. Crean maybe, don't know a lot about him. Billy D, has had MONSTER talent over the last 12 years ( a lot of early exits with that talent as well) and finally got a team to mesh, but still has a loosing record to the Tub, so why would he be better just because he hit a hot two years.

 

AM 630 reported that UK is talking to Rick Barnes, if he can't win two games in the tourney with the BEST player in college basketball why would we want to hire Barnes, I also beleive for his career he has averaged double digit losses.

 

As a UK FAN Tubby being ran off is more embarassing that the Emory Package sent to Chris Mills. And a sadder day than the 92 Regional finals loss.

Let's be honest...how many coaches WANT and can ENDURE the pressure of this job? And after what happened today,how many would want the job knowing it's going to take 2 to 3 years to rebuild...the list is short! You have to be able to THRIVE under pressure (not just endure it)....

Billy D has the job if he wants it, Pitino will probably be 2nd choice if he shows an interest, Both sides will hug & kiss and talk about how he should have never left. Pitino knows those years at UK were magical for both him and the university.
