I could see him fitting in very well at UK. With his determinationa and the chip he carries on his shoulder, he is what UK would need to get through what I think will be a difficult couple of years.

I don't disagree but even if Smith stayed you might have been looking at some bleak years ahead. Next year if Morris is gone even with Patterson and Lucas you would not have a big man in the middle. Patterson would help but he is no Morris. Starters would be Bradley, Crawford, Meeks, Stevenson, Patterson. Bench Lucas, Porter and Jasper, Carter. Not a bad team but not a sweet 16 team either.

I don't get it. Why is Ford even in the equation? If his name was Bill Smith would you want him? What has he accomplished to get his name mentioned? I think UK fans need to get over the Pitino era and the players who played for him.

A coach confident in his abilitys would run to Lexington to get this job. There is going to be tons of interest in this job, people keep talking like were not even gonna get an applicant, UK may not get a better person as their next coach probably not possible. But they will defintely get a better coach.

Tons of interest..sure...But my point is..WHO CAN HANDLE THE PRESSURE??? Confidence in ability is a plus,but I still say the list is short to those who can sit in the hot seat...I would hope it is someone who has been here before,either as a player or a coach..someone who BLEEDS BLUE!! Not someone who just wants the chance at the job to better HIS career. Someone who can take us back to where we belong!

Pat Riley gets the first call... he says no. It is Billy Donovan's to lose. If Billy says no... then down the list we go. I wonder if any of the D'Antoni rumors were true or not. I would LOVe D'Antoni or Donovan.

Every program he has been at, he has turned them around. He has now been to 3 programs who were probably at rock bottom when he took over, and within 2 years he has gotten all three of them alot better. The reason why you never here his name around the country much is because after he rebuilds a program he usually gets offered a better job, and has to start rebuilding again. He is a young coach that is going to get a big time job here soon....

 

How long has he been at UMASS? I just think he needs 3-5 more years of experience before he is ready for the big time. If Ford continues to build his resume and has sustained success at UMASS then I might be persuaded. IMO the jury is still out with Ford.

Donovan by FAR... #1 priority is getting a big name in and start the recruiting. We MUST GET A COACH who can recruit this time around. The coaching game is so minimal in todays day and age. Its about getting the studs on campus.

All the UK fans really want is someone who can bring in NBA talent and someone who plays a fun uptempo game. Games at Rupp have been so boring over the last two years. We have got to get a recruiter and thats all we really need. Studs know how to play the game they have natural talent. Sure coaching helps, but we gotta get someone who can get the kids in Lextown.
