Hill and Rice with almost all the points for Holmes. Henderson shut down Proffitt for most of the game, although he did score about 15 in the 4th quarter. Bad shooting by both teams, but the offensive rebounding of Holmes allowed them to take and make more shots than SL.

Too bad Trinity was no good in 2004 when my Dixie team beat them..

Dixie played Newport Central Catholic in this game. It was Dixie's Senior Night and they won 8-1.

Beechwood has backed out of this game and it has been cancelled.

I would say it all depends on who pitches. Dixie probably wins, though.

Dixie enforces the mercy rule on the higher ranked Cougars. Matt Nichols pitched a no hitter and the Dixie bats crushed Conner's pitchers.

Dixie plays Lloyd now at 2:30, following the Ludlow-NCC game at noon. The Dixie-Lloyd game is for district seedings. This pool is at Silver Grove.

Dixie takes both games of the doubleheader. Down 6-0 in the first game, Dixie scored 7 runs in one inning and it stayed that way the rest of the way. Down 5-2 in the last inning, Dixie scored 4 runs to win 6-5. A great day for Red Colonel fans.

Dixie beat Holy Cross 5-3. Sam Lawson started and pitched 4 innings, Justin Cole got the save. A lot of good defense by Dixie helped them earn this win. They don't look as bad as their 12-2 loss to Boone anymore.

Kiernan scored 33 on the Colonels in their first meeting, which Dixie still won. I can't imagine him scoring that many again. Also, they didn't shoot all that well in their win over Holme's the other night, and they rely on the three point shot a lot less than they did earlier in the season. Dixie should pull this one out by 10 points or so. 63-53.

Well obviously there is no way to be truly certain of who is going to win. But based on the games in the tournament so far, both Colonels look like they SHOULD be favored. Anything can happen though, you're right.

From what I can tell, it looks like a Red Colonels-Blue Colonels matchup on Saturday.

I thought the officials in both games did a great job tonight, too. Things were looking good for Conner early, but Kiernan was too much for them. NCC fans, would you say the loss of Heil has hurt or helped the team?

I thought the 5th Region officials called a nice game. I do not believe that the majority of 9th Region refs would have called that technical on Duran, and it was the correct call which made a huge difference in the game. Dixie's brutal schedule has turned them into one of the toughest defensive teams around. They are going to be in every game they play from here on out because of it. Look for three spectacular games Friday and Saturday, two of which Dixie Heights will be apart of.

The Colonels deserved to win and they outhustled the Bulldogs the whole game. You could really tell the seniors for Dixie weren't going to let this be their last game. Tough loss for Holmes, but Dixie really wanted it a lot more and it showed. Great game Dixie.

NCC defeats Conner thanks to Kiernan inside and the sharpshooters from the outside being too much for the Cougars. Dixie will beat Holmes because of the revenge factor and the seniors don't want to go out in the first round of the tournament. Covington Catholic beats Ryle due to sheer talent. Highlands bests Ludlow in the biggest blowout of this tournament. Dixie vs. NCC: Dixie wins this matchup in a great semifinal game because of unbelieveable three point shooting. Covington Catholic vs. Highlands: Cov Cath wins by shutting down Vories and keeping Guidugli in check. Great team effort here by the Colonels. Dixie vs CCH: Red vs Blue Colonels. Great atmosphere, but I will predict Dixie to upset Cov Cath in a great game, 65-63. Good luck to all the teams.

Don't have a roster but their key players are Travis Huffman (guard) and Alex Curry (center). If Conner is going to beat NCC they are going to do it from the outside and on defense.

Josh Keener sat the second half with a back injury (after shooting like 0/11 in the first half) and Justin Cole was playing with an injured calf.

Hester played in the freshmen regional tournament for Conner his eighth grade year, too, if I remember correctly.
