Comments:

1) I heard from a good reliable source that Elliott Co. hit more shots and outrebounded Ashland in the 2nd half. It was a close game all the way through except the 2nd half of the 4th quarter. It was tied at 43 at the half.

3) My hats off to the young Elliott County team. They are now 24-6 and played their basketball throughout the playoffs. Congrats on being the 16th All "A" Champs and Regular Champs. I could very easily see them competing to go the final four(with their draw).

1. Ashland was unable to maintain the pace and keep up with Elliott Co. This became more evident as the second half continued.

3. Elliott County withstood what was thrown at them and over came each teams style of play and game plan. They won by 15, 16 and 16 points and scoring 64, 51 and 85 points. Great job and congrats to the Lions!

Is tonight the only night that Maynard did anything? where was his all tourney votes?

 

T-May played quite a bit against Boyd getting 9 and 5, however not much against Russell. The main thing is that Elliott is going to Rupp!

Remember that Drew's team beat Boyd also to get the draw Ashland got in the Regional toury sooo????? Also, I guess Elliott's loss to East Carter means that Ashland's semi game was a cake-walk???

 

Now, Elliott County is the 16th Region Champion regardless of the IFs and BUTs. My advice is to enjoy the win and stop trying to defend it because next year will come very quickly:jump:

I watched him coach against my Dad, I played against his teams, and I also coached against his teams.

He has been around a loooooooooooong time and going to Rupp is well deserved.

Sounds like BuddyBall tried to run with Elliott and instead got run out of the gym by sophomores and an 8th grader?

There was a lot of teams that got ran out of the gym by Elliott this year , take a good look at their record and you will see that.

Dawgdays you don't think Vanhoose would have made a little difference?

When the pairings were determined, Vanhoose's season was terminated. Thus all the BGP predictions. IF, Vanhoose was available. Then I would stick to my original pick of Russell before post season started. Since he (Vanhoose) was finished, I resorted to my backup plan of Elliott. I have posted numerous times about Elliott's young talent and their ability to run the 16th for the next 3 years.

 

So in conclusion, YES Vanhoose would have made a difference. But he was not available, so the point is mute. Thus, Elliott was the best team going into this tournament.

How is the young Vanhoose doing? I wish he would have went to Marshall, it looks like both Universities are need of Coaches.

Congrats to Elliott County..Great Team.

The Tomcats had a great year and have nothing to be ashamed of. It will be interesting to see next year, Elliott will rule then too. Lets see who here that is all about Elliott changes their mind when they beat them! That includes the ROCK.

And for the seniors they will move on to bigger and better things in college!

Good luck to robbie, drew, tyler, and dan. They will be missed next year, especially McDavid. For those that doubt it, read his stats!!! They speak for itself!

Drew McDavid was robbed of the MVP. He definitley should have got it! 26 and 20 in one game and 19 and 16 in another. How could he not have gotton it?

 

You are absolutely correct!! He doesnt need another plaque or public acknowledgement, we all know how great he is.... And how hard he has worked his whole career. Recall, he started out playing as a 8th. grader too.
