Raw deal, that play was intential, I would have paid too see Hansborough get up and knocked henderson out could for the crap he pulled. I bet he wouldn't have to worry about him doinig it again. That was low!!!

Well it looked like Hansborough was about to cry so I'd say you would be paying real good money to see that.

Duke Head Coach Mike Krzyzewski's opening statement in the press conference after the game.

"Well they played a hell of a game. They're fast and deep. I thought our kids played their hearts out. And I had a chance to watch the play. We'll take all responsibility, but if there's anyway Gerald Henderson did that intentionally, it's crazy. He's moving away from him, he's going up to block, he's not even seeing how he hit him. He should be fouled, but that's not the way he plays and that's not the way we play. He didn't extend anything, and it's unfortunate. The officials have to call what they do, and I'm sorry that Tyler got hit. That's not what he wanted to happen. But also the intent was not to do that. There was nothing extended, and he was hit somewhere on the forearm as [Gerald Henderson] was turning. I feel badly for Tyler and we apologize for that, but I know there was no intent to do that. Otherwise you would push your hand out. Again you go with what was called and I feel badly that that was happened."

Have you ever been hit in the nose. Tears are pretty much unavoidable

During the game I though it was a cheapy. Then I continued to rewind, rewind, rewind. The shot from the back looks bad. The best shot is the one from halfcourt, IMO it looked like Henderson tried to make a block, noticed it wasn't going to happen then out of reflex tried to protect his own grill and landed a pretty good shot to the nose of psycho T, I think Hansbrough was being angry, he would have ripped Hendersons head off if he had the chance too. One thing is for certain, Henderson will have a few more games in the series in CH and he won't be liked.

Having just watched it again I am sure that Henderson did not intend to cut Tyler's face open, but the view from behind it sure looks like he did intend to foul him hard on a play that really meant nothing.

Here's the video guys, see what you think.

Still looks like an accident to me. Henderson's palm being open makes me think he was going for a hard block or foul and just ended up connecting with his forearm.

Yes, I played shortstop from the time I was 5 years old untill I was 18 years old, so needless to say I took a couple of bad hops to the face. I was mainly combating East Banks agression to see Hanborough retaliate for something Henderson didn't even know he did.

Yeah, played flag football down at UK. Laid out for a ball. As doing so the defender took a dive. My face met his knee. His knee hit me in the side of the face, slide across my face and my nose took the full brunt. Turned it completely sideways. At least all I had to do was walk to the UK hospital because it was pretty much right there. Lots of blood, and eyes were running like crazy. They weren't tears, you just can't stop them for some reason.

Don't defend him by linking to a video entitled "Henderson Cheapshot" :D

When you make that solid of contact with someone you know it. Henderson's reaction right after the play too makes me think the same.

Got it off the Catspause so you had to expect something like that.

Thanks for the link. I definitely don't think it was intentional. I think Henderson was just making sure that Hansbrough didn't get another bucket, but I just don't see the blow to the face as intentional.

You cannot swing a forearm like he did and then say it was unintentional. Maybe if the hand and arm had come from a top-down angle but not the forearm shiver that was thrown across the nose.

Henderson came in to deliver a blow, unfortunately for Hansbrough it happened to land on his face. As you said, he was making sure that Hansbrough didn't get another bucket...regardless of the outcome...

I think he came in for another monster block, the kid cupped a block earlier in the game. You can see from the front angle that he saw the ball coming out of Tyler's hands, then his eyes were closed as his bow went into the kid's face. The blood didn't help his cause, this will only add to the heat of the rivalry whether it was intentional or not, only adds a bit of fuel the the best rivalry in hoops.
