Gerald Henderson

In my opinion, Henderson came over for a forceful rejection.

Was there intent? I think he was intent to be strong in the block, whether he made contact or not is questionable.

However, after looking at the replay, he does drive his forearm through. He recoils his arm when he sees that it is blocked, but continues to drive his forearm through him.

When you do that there is some intent. I have played a lot of hoops and even if you ae going for a forceful block you are going to swing in a swatting motion real hard and the hand or arm is going to cause the foul, not leading with a forearm.

It looks like Henderson drove his forearm through Hansbrough. Did he intend to hurt him...maybe not but there was intent to make sure Hansbrough didnt get that shot off. However, it is clear he drove that forearm through without holding up.

It was a wildy unnecessary, hard, angry foul. He should be punished for it. Hansborough's bloody face is testament to the reason they call fouls. But, there is no way for him to have willingly tried to elbow him in the head like that. I mean, if he were a 7th Dan Black Belt in some ancient Kung Fu...then maybe I would buy it. As it stands now, it was an overly frustrated kid going up to try and make a statement with a big block and it had a bad ending.

If you actually watch back in the game the last 3 mins.. this was CLEARLY coming. Several elbows and body shoves were being thrown.

I dont like either team but that was clearly a cheap shot. Game was out of reach... Duke kid was mad they were getting beat, and probably mad UNC was trying to keep scoring... he was MAYBE going for a block, but he clearly didnt care if he got "body" or hit Hans as he did. Given today's game and how today's kids play, you can read between the lines and know that was intentional. Duke kid was sending a message and was blowing off some steam. Kinda surprised one of those UNC bench guys didnt jump in.

He was surely going for a hard foul that obvious but I don't know if he meant to hit him in the face like that.

Reasonable assumption

Reasonable assumption

So its pretty hard to determine the "dirtiness" of the situation.

I'm sure not many of us on BGP can leap over 30+ inches, he was trying to make a statement, playing hard, look at the tape, his eyes were closed. Was he trying to make Hansbrough pay, yes, was he trying to split him up, I doubt it.

Gotta read inbetween the lines. The last 3 mins as a whole were chippy. Hansbrough was scoring when he probably shouldnt have even been in the game.... Hendo let out his frusteration and sent a message.

^Looks like he was ready to fight.

I hope Henderson get whats coming to him, really.

Nice... Hope for the young kid to get beat up.

I'm with everyone that thinks it was intentional. Flagrant foul, ejection, one game suspension, all waranted. BTW Billy Packer is a complete idiot.

Ok, I'm over this whole thing. However I do have a question for those that say "He wasn't even looking at him." What in the world does that have to do with anything?
