On a much sadder note for the Birds, I understand Dillon Cottingham son of former All State Linebacker Mark "Dusty" Cottingham who helped HHS to two State Champ seasons in '81,'82 will not be attending Highlands next year. Instead the lastest reports indicate he's heading to Park Hills and Not for Football but for Baseball. I am quite sure Dusty will here about this from some of his boys in Ft. Thomas.

 

Dillon would have been a tuition student at HHS. He lives in the Campbell County district.

 

I would guess this means Dusty will no longer be coaching at HHS.

Does anyone know if Dusty has applied to become a coach at CCH? He was a freshmen coach at Highlands last year. With a new coaching staff being brought in this might be his chance to coach on the varsity level at CCH.

My ? had to do with HHS football, will Dusty still coach at HHS or will he try an coach at CCH? You might want to talk to Sweeperboy about getting off the topic though!

Maybe another Bret Hamblem type kid getting ready to suit it up for the Birds next year. Kids name is Kevin Duenas, wow! Lighting Speed and Quickness and a tough one to boot. One of those kids that will play multiple roles for the Birds.

Yes, he is very quick and has a Brett Hamblen build to him. They will have a lot of weapons.

I don't know what scholarship he would be receiving. I'm pretty sure the 4 or so scholarships they give out based on the entrance exam have been accounted for.

 

Maile: While I know nothing about Dillon, he will not beat out Maile .

Dillon pitches. He was picked to play on a team last year that tried to qualify for the Little League World Series. They were not successful.

What are some of the sizes of these kids. Are you serious about this being the biggest team pound for pound ever at Highlands. That's is a pretty bold statement considering there have been some pretty big teams at Highlands especially this past team in 2006. What are they feeding these kids!!!!!

The 2006 freshmen were not big weight wise, but I'd have to say that they were probably one of the tallest classes . The 2007 class by far is a bigger class overall.
