I don't see Mike Hester playing at NKU. He's to small and would be dominated against by guys from other schools. But then again, I thought the same about Bibbins and still do think that about him.

Typically I'd agree with you, but Hester's quickness and tenacity makes him much better than his size should allow him to be. I mean it's not like he's 5'6. He's just not tall, and not built thick. But he's all hustle. He's the type of guy that plays a game that makes him good at his position. I think he's got a shot in D2.

No knock on Michael, but I think there's three better all around (and bigger) guards in the shadows of NKU than him--Todd Jacobs of CCH, Austin Hill of Holmes and Corey Pelle of Silver Grove!!

Jake obviously headed to Thomas More, and not sure about Hill? Selfishly, I'd like to see Corey at NKU, as I'd have more opportunity to see him play!!

Austin Hill is without a doubt the best player in NKY agreed. Hester is right there with the other 2 guys and you cant really compare them because Mike is a true PG and the other 2 ( Pelle and Jacobs ) are not. If I was a coach and needed a PG I would take Hester over both. If I needed a scorer I would consider Pelle or Jacobs.

I think a lot depends on your surrounding talent? Agree Mike has been a pure point guard all of his career, while the other two have played multiple roles. Having watched Pelle and Jacobs a lot over their careers, I'm certain both could play the point or 2 guard, depending on the situation. Both are every bit as good at running an offense, passing for assists, driving to the hoop, etc.; and happen to be superior shooters and creators.

IMO Hester has the talent to play at NKU. It's close to home and they're building a state of the art, 9,000 seat arena? And NKU could use a player like Hester.

 

I'd like to see it happen. Mainly because I'd like to get more chances to watch him play.

Mike is a 4 year starter for Simon Kenton. He was injured before the season started and aggravated his ankle\foot injury during the 5\3 tourney in Lexington. He is 5'9" and jet quick, runs the team quite well. I don't think he is up to speed just yet.

I think 5'9" is generous hopper but the kid is tough, too bad he's so small. I love his game, he plays so hard some school will get a good player. Drew Lavender isn't tall but he can play but the fact of the matter is he's in the minority. BTW he looks close to full speed now, night and day compared to the Ryle and Shelby game that I saw.

NKU would be nuts not to offer Pelle a full ride!!!! I would put him up against any player in Northern KY. He can shoot, drive, pass, and defend.
