Anybody else think this would be good for both sides?

 

IMO Hester has the talent to play at NKU. It's close to home and they're building a state of the art, 9,000 seat arena? And NKU could use a player like Hester.

 

I'd like to see it happen. Mainly because I'd like to get more chances to watch him play.

IMO he's the same player as Scottie Bibbins, who possibly will be credited with a medical redshirt later this season. They are waiting on a ruling.

 

But Mike Hester is better outside shooter. I say no. But I also said no to Bibbins.

I think he's a better scorer than Bibbins, and possibly a better defender, but his size really hurts. Just my opinion though.

I can see Mike Hester going to an NAIA school. Ive heard rumors of Georgetown, but also Pikeville. The Pikeville coach, Kelly Wells, has a past with Simon coach Trent Steiner. Some strings could be pulled to get Hester down in the mountains, but who really knows until the day he commits...?

NKU has recruited Mike, at one point he was down to either NKU or Georgetown, but I've heard the list has possibly grown. Hester is a better player than Bibbins, but I still don't see him going to NKU.

Hester is a very nice player. He has a number of tools that allow him to dominate most high school games. It is unfortunate that he isn't 3 to 4 inches taller because he would be something special. Hester struggles, as one poster has pointed out, with tall and physical defenders. He has the ball handling ability and speed to beat most off the dribble but a taller defender has the advantage of playing back a step and still being able to defend the jumpshot by extending his arms. He definitely has the ability to play at NKU and, more importantly, seems to play the game HARD all the time. It takes a player to play through obvious pain and still make an impact.

He definitely won't be ahead of Finnell. Kramer and Kimmey see very little action. McFarland is good, but I hardly consider him a guard because he never never shoots and rarely even dribbles the ball. Bibbins is solid and similar to Hester. But he's older and now has injury concerns. The medical redshirt ruling will make a big difference.

I agree with you but the thing but the thing is McFarland starts. Before Bibbins got hurt he started too. The only person i think that Hester would play in front of is Mike Kimmey. The other reason why Micael Kramer is not playing because he didnt transfer until half way of the season and it takes a while to learn the new offense

I have seen a few different NKU coaches at the last several SK games. Not saying they were looking at Mike but they were there.

I really dont think NKU is in the running. Last I heard it was Georgetown who was leading the way.

I disagree, completely. I've watched Hester many times, and I've seen several NKU games. He could definitely play there, without a doubt. You need to see him more often.

I will grant you I am not a very good judge of talent and have been wrong as much I have been right, but I think the comparison to Bibbins is a good comparison.

If you think the Bibbins comparison is correct, why don't you think he could play for NKU, as Bibbins does? Hester definitely has the talent, his size hurts, but his quickness makes up for it. IMO.
