Taking off my blue-tinted glasses and looking at that picture from the perspective of a Fort Mitchell kid who carpooled to Spartans football practice with Adam, that's an awesome picture of a kid winning the big rivalry game for his hometown school. Putting those glasses back on, man, that picture sucks, ha. That was my senior year...and the fifth-straight year the Colonels lost to the Tigers in football. I wasn't on any of the special teams units, so as the center I was over on the sideline watching the kick...if the picture was zoomed out a little further I was standing about riiiiiiiight there (with my fists clenched, lol.)

46th All-Time meeting for this rivalry game that is the epitome of the great things in HS Football. Cov Cath has a feeder school inside of Fort Mitchell that my family attended mass at growing up. Some of my best friends I played youth sports and spent every summer at pool with went to Cov Cath for HS. We swapped our friendships for hatred for 4 years before reuniting in college like nothing happened, LOL! The 2 communities are intertwined in so many ways; I think Kenton County and NKY in general doesn't get the respect it deserves from the rest of the State. So I have a lot of pride in the talent that will be on display this Friday.

Dixie Highway is 5,786 miles of road and only 2 miles of that road separate these two Blue-Bloods of Kentucky Football. 26 combined State Titles. I hope that number is 28 after this season.

In terms of offensive skill, I have never seen a Beechwood team this talented. But skill positions does not determine the winner of this game, it's in the trenches. Some of the best Beechwood Teams: '04, '07, '11, '20 and '23 lost this game but went on to win a state title (minus 2011, which was a massive injustice of the football Gods). I think Team '26 will be added to that list.

Covington Catholic 35-27. Looking forward to another classic of a game and an electric atmosphere that's unrivaled across Northern Kentucky!

I was a little surprised by that, given the speed that Beechwood has in their defensive secondary. Coach Eviston has always liked taking shots downfield when he has a quarterback with the arm to do it...so I'm curious to see how he utilizes Courtney's arm this week, in particular.

Beechwood ran a very vanilla offense not showing much.

Every skill player on this 2026 team plus Flaherty at RB, Aylor at RB, Erdman at WR, Cusick at WR and the only difference is Hayden at QB instead of Queen.

High scoring game. Alot of top notch athletes competing to the fullest in this one. Helmets cracking, bodies flying. Intense emotions from the coaches, the players and the most faithful and proud fans. My type of game.

Who has the most depth? Everytime I think it's Cov Cath I start to think otherwise. When I lean towards Beechwood, the more recent and all time series history tells me I am over thinking it too much.

Both teams are sound across the board. Concrete solid special teams, bone crushing ground attacks, aerial assaults, composed QB's, stout defenses that are discipline, great coaches. No more could one ask ask for to better the Friday night lights in Park Hills. It doesn't seem like long ago this game would have had to of been played on a Saturday. Friday night lights makes it right.

Sorry Cov Cath faithful, but Fryman is the 1%. Pabst is a different breed. Queens spiral on the ball is as beautiful as can be. Arrasmith is a gamer. Rash is a mad man with a roster that tops all of his Beechwood tenure(s).

I'm not sure CCH has that much of a depth advantage this year. I was looking at rosters around Nky at the beginning of the season to scope out familiar last names from program to program and I was borderline shocked when I saw how few players CCH has on the roster this year.
