After looking at the stats from the two shared opponents, it's notable to me that when both teams faced the more capable passing opponent - Simon Kenton - Beechwood gave up at least three 25+ yard receptions. I was a little surprised by that, given the speed that Beechwood has in their defensive secondary. With as many capable receivers as Cov Cath has, and even with Brandon Smith injured (I have no idea what his anticipated return date is), I wonder whether or not that makes Coach Eviston more inclined to look for more opportunities to take deep shots downfield.

To me, Dylan Courtney still looks like he's warming up to being more comfortable in the pocket with defensive pressure, although he's appeared to be visibly improving on that front every week. That said, I believe 3 of the 4 picks he's thrown this season were when he was being hurried or flushed out of the pocket. As fast and elusive as Fryman and Pabst are with the ball, if either of those were to come down with a pick for Beechwood, the scrambling that takes place after an interception is gonna make them trouble for any team to bring down if they have any kind of space to run. Coach Eviston has always liked taking shots downfield when he has a quarterback with the arm to do it...so I'm curious to see how he utilizes Courtney's arm this week, in particular.

In 4 games played he's rushed 53 times for 397 yards (7.5 YPC) and 9 touchdowns. He also has 6 receptions for 105 yards (17.5 YPR) and 2 touchdowns. He's averaging 125.5 all purpose yards and 2.75 touchdowns per game....as a sophomore.

Based on the stats, it seems Fryman is more underutilized on offense than expected. However, the OC clearly knows best, which is backed by the team's success this year. The team seems like a more rounded squad with plenty of options-which is always a good tool for the OC to have in their back pocket.

I'll go with Cov Cath by 7.

What I have noticed is their Defense is a lot better then last year. I watched them play Owensboro Catholic and they weren't very impressive. They were alot better in 2024 then 2025. Now, I think they are better again.

Is that from having Rash back? I know in the past he had a heavy influence on the defense.
