February 18, 200719 yr Give him a break. He's trying to distract himself from the rotting corpse that is LSU basketball. Pot...Meet Kettle...
February 18, 200719 yr Pot...Meet Kettle... Nah.. we're all wallowing in grief, not ignoring it..... yet...
February 18, 200719 yr Easy to say now. UL looked like they were left for dead a month ago. That's why us UL fans don't give up on our team so easily. :ylsuper:

February 18, 200719 yr You really think they'll lose to Georgia, LSU, AND Vandy? Losing two of those would be pathetic. Losing all 3 means Tubby is looking for work. I can only hope that they do! U can't spell sUcKs without a U and a K!

February 18, 200719 yr I think if UK finishes 9-7 in conference play, they get an at large bid. May be an 7-10 seed. They have to win their home games versus LSU and Georgia. A win at Vandy would do wonders for their psyche, but I am not looking past LSU, who has a beast in the paint and long enough guys on the perimeter to give UK fits. Funny thing is, if UK finishes third in the east, their opening round opponent is likely to be LSU for the late game Thursday night in Atlanta. UK is 18-8 and on a 3 game skid...but if you look around the country it is amazing to see so many "name" teams with 7-9 losses. Arizona, 17-9 and coming off two home court losses this week. Duke 19-7 and seemingly have regained their faculties. Indiana, hot as fire a few weeks ago have faded and lost two in a row this week, and they have 8 losses. OK State, 18-7 and lost at home to Missouri today. Michigan State, 19-8... The list goes on and on. Right now, the biggest thing in UK's favor is that they have a top 10 RPI and a top 10 SOS. However, the last 10 games issue will hurt their seeding.

February 18, 200719 yr Would you like to reconsider calling out other people's predictions? I'm sure I can find a few around here somewhere  It's easy when you won't step out on your own limb...however...the CARDS have improved...the CATS have regressed...everything is right in the world when the Cards are seeded higher than the Cats.

However, the last 10 games issue will hurt their seeding. The way I see it, UK wins the obvious ones (LSU, UGA) and drops the obvious ones (UF, Vandy). Given parity, I see no reason they can't win 2-3 games in the SEC tourney, if not win it outright. Even if they did go 1-3 and dropped their first-round SEC tourney game, making them 19-12, with their ridiculously good SOS they're in no doubt. I keep thinking back to that UGA team that made it in with something like 14 losses and can't help but figure UK's OK. But they are probably not going to get any better than a 6 seed unless they do something really special over the last (potential) eight games.
