If Louisville continues to play at the momentum theyve been capable of all year, and the rest of the Big East (minus WVU and Notre Dame) contiunes to slack off, Louisville has a real shot at the conference tourney. This is the part of the year that they pay Pitino the big bucks for. Did Pitino give them a refund last year;)
February 13, 200719 yr Imo U.L. will be around a #6 or #7 seed. Should they keep winning then maybe a #5. Probably right. While I'm very happy with the win over Pitt, I just don't think the Panthers played a very good game last night. I'd have a hard time seeding U of L much higher than 6 or 7 on just this one win against a top 25 team. If they can show that the Pitt game wasn't a matter of catching the Panthers napping (by winning at Marquette on Saturday), I think they deserve a 5.
February 13, 200719 yr Its so weird how thoughts have changed with one performance. Thoughts really haven't changed that much. Everybody new that they were right there on the line between the NCAA and the NIT and this is the kind of win that can get you in the Tourney.
February 13, 200719 yr IF, and its still a big IF, the Cards make the tournament they will be no higher than a #6 seed. I see them being a #7, #8, or #9 seed though as long as they only lose a couple more games.

You're talking about them jumping over at least 30 teams.

Now this is just hypothetical, but I highly doubt seeing them doing so if they would continue their hot streak into the tourney and win it.

February 13, 200719 yr Cards win every game except Marquette. Lose in the semis of the Big East to Pittsburgh. In the end UL will get a 7 seed in the NCAA. 5 if they win the Big East tournament.

Win out including the Tournament and UL MIGHT climb to a 3. Other than that I see no better than 6th...

Are you saying that only if UL was the one that won the tournament, or if any team? Say, if Cincinnati got hot and won out, they'd be 20-14 (I think). I'm going to tell you that they, or any team with that type of record that wins a major conference, will not be a high seed. Last year South Carolina ended up in the NIT when they lost the SEC Championship to Florida. Are you telling me that just because they were in a high major conference that if they had won the SEC they'd have jumped from NIT team to 5 seed or higher? Now, I get that what you're saying that if UL were to win out from here on through the Big East tourney they will be a high seed. They certainly won't be lower than a 6. But I still think a 3 seed is a long way to climb.
