Kentucky Transfer Portal/Roster Tracker 2026

Featured Replies

Well at least we know we have one PG on the roster for next year. If Lowe returns, then we would actually have two PG's which is something we didn't have this year.

Also I am kind of interested in Mo Williams will be joining the staff. He currently is the head coach at Jackson State University. His son Mason was committed to there, before backing out and now signing with the Cats. Makes you wonder, if the reason he backed out was because it is a package deal for his dad to come here too.

The amount of people online worked up about this is wild to me. He’s was the third or fourth best player on a team that nobody enjoyed watching go 22-14. Do I trust Pope can find someone better? Not s

I think without a doubt, Mo will also be in Lexington.

It would be a little weird for his dad to give up a head coach job to be an assistant. With that said, if that means giving your son a better opportunity, while also being with him. Then I can definitely see that.

Actually I'm thinking it could be a pay raise.  Two opening on the bench.

I was thinking the same. Google says Jason Hart was making $525k a year and Alvin Brooks was making $825k. Not that Mo Williams is hurting for cash, but I think overall it shows that being an assistant at UK vs Head Coach at Jackson State isn't likely a pay cut or much of one. And if successfull and perhaps even if not, it would definitely open up further opportunities down the road.

I look for Pope to add Jake Feldhaus as his first freshman portal transfer soon.

Why?

Kentucky High School Mr. Basketball, Dad and Grandfather played at UK. That's more than enough for Pope or even Cal and Rick if they were still coaching UK.

In today’s college basketball landscape. I would be very surprised if Cal would have brought him in. I don’t even think Pitino would have either. As a lot has changed from 34 years ago when Pitino did rely on some Ky boys for that memorable 92 team.

It is always great seeing Ky boys play for UK. However, it needs to be Ky boys that would play at a lot of top schools. As we have seen with Noah, Perry, etc. Great high school players, but doesn’t necessarily mean they should be at UK. At least not in a role that is expected to help.

Moreno made sense, Tay Kinney would have made sense, and I think Jasper did too. As all guys were guys other big schools would have wanted too. With the transfer portal. You basically need to be bringing freshmen in that can help now, or leave that spot open for a proven transfer. So I don’t think Cal or Pitino would have been in on him. Which I think even Pope may be learning that now too.

Travis Perry was Mr. Basketball, he's now at Ole Miss, so again I will ask why? He's not going to help them.

I would say if the player wants to come to UK knowing that they will have minimal playing time why not. They can have a 15 man roster no high-quality player wants to be nine through 15. Probably not even seven through 15. Why not use the last spot or two if a kid just wants to be part UK but they should obviously know their time will be minimal, and they are basically practiced fodder

Lowe reportedly into the portal and leaving UK. Not good for Pope. Any current player leaving UK is a bad thing when there is one new roster commitment.

Sounds like from reports we can expect a mass exodus, with at least half or more of the team gone.  As many of the players will have to accept making less money this year, if they want to stay.

The the funny thing is for years many people complained that they wanted to have guys who would be here more than a year. However, I think the majority of the fan base will actually feel just fine if most of this roster was gone.

The same reason Perry left, and Noah is fixing to leave. They don't want to be buried in the bench when they feel like they can play. So go somewhere else where they can play. He should have stayed at Belmont, he will not survive in the SEC, and if he's fine being buried on the bench, then by all means go to UK, but if he thinks he can play he should have stayed where he was.
