Ashland was the last team to pull it off.

Congrats to GRC on being state champions! Congrats to St. X on being runner up. Great seasons for both teams! GRC shot 90% from free throw line which is amazing stat and won the game for them.

Congrats to GRC they are the first school to win both the girls and boys championships in the same season in 98 years. The last school to win both were the Ashland in 1928.

WOW! What a great game that was between those two teams. Congrats to Coach Cook and the GRC Cardinals. Great display throughout.

Good question I know back in 1984 East Carter won the state baseball title and was the district runner-up.

I know Trinity did so in 2019.

I did some research and the last one was Trinity from the 2018-19 season the lost the district title to Waggener and went on to win the State.

Malachi Ashford was named the MVP. Congratulations!

2019 Trinity

2015 Owensboro

2014 Covington Catholic

2011 Christian County

Each of those teams lost district but won state.
