February 11, 200719 yr Bobby Perry is killing them right now, has been all year. SheeRay is playing better, getting more positives than Bobby. Time to cut a good man loose and try another option.....
February 11, 200719 yr They had a lot go their way and shot 3-22 from 3 point land and awful from the free throw line. There is no spinning there. I know you love to ruffel feathers of the CATS fans but to act like they couldn't play with them is kind of silly. I think Florida battled a ton of adversity toinght but I also think UK made some awful offensive decsions by taking lower percentage shots and not attacking the guys in foul trouble. I agree with you that the game was right there for UK to take and it went the way they needed it to go. I don't think you are giving enough credit that they took the #1 team in the land to the final buzzer and shot as bad as they could shoot. If this were UC then I don't think this is the attitude you would have. It's all good though. I know you like to bust chops in these situations. That's one reason I've grown to enjoy the sarcasim sometimes. If you look I have the same attitude when UC is in the same situation. When you have everything go your way and lose, it's a tough pill to swallow. And it's even worse when you have the big stage and don't get it done. It's a lot like the UC/UK tournament game. UC had everything go their way that night and just couldn't finish. You have contact with people involved in a lot of levels in the American sports world. I'm sure they will all say what I'm saying. When you have #1 in the perfect spot, you have to finish them off. #1 doesn't give an opponent that chance very often...

Kentucky has played the role of "Florida tonight" so many times over the years. I'm starting to understand what the rest of the SEC has felt toward UK for so long!
February 11, 200719 yr I have learned on here to take GT with a grain of salt. A lot of what I post is intended to be taken with a grain of salt. Not tonight. The UK base is already wound up, and there is no need for fuel on the fire. Just giving what I saw from the game...
February 11, 200719 yr Author Very civil thread. Great work folks... :thumb: Now you've jinxed it...:irked:

February 11, 200719 yr Author At close to 250 the mods will thank me... It could get nasty from here on through the night...After no trouble in the first page, the Mods probably headed out for a celebration...
February 11, 200719 yr  They are not a team prone to foul trouble, and they made some very stupid fouls that landed starters and reserves on the bench. The Gators didn't shoot well. Just like UK they missed more than a few open looks. If you've watched Florida this year, you know it's not often they play as poorly as they did tonight. UF didn't play well and UK still didn't have a lead all game in front of the biggest and maybe loudest crowd in Rupp history. Feel good about it if you can... No where close to the loudest crowd in Rupp history. It could have been if UK had made some shots. The crowd was great, and if UK had hit a couple of those wide open threes in succession it might have gotten close. You are right though about UF not playing well. They still managed to shoot 47% from the field.

I think we are on the same page that the game went the way the needed it to go. I don't think we are on the same page about them playing again. My gut says the CATS get beat pretty bad but I think we are different in that I think KY has the potential to beat them. UofF never showed they could stop the inside game when we went to it. UK showed they have the weapons to get UofF in foul trouble. While both teams shot bad, KY's shooting was on a level way below bad. I think KY played hard but I think their offensive strategy was AWFUL! I don't blame Florida I would let us set wide open and shoot the ball deep all day long while we are 3-22 from the 3 pt line. KY not attacking the basket is the difference in this game. You talk about putting a team away when you get the chance and I totally agree. I also think when you have bigtime players in foul trouble early you go right at them. KY failed to do that and even worse they shot the ball awful instead of attacking. Nothing but love for you man. I'm glad we can have civil disputes.:thumb:

February 11, 200719 yr I'm glad we can have civil disputes.:thumb: :ylsuper: That's what BGP is all about. I thought UK would win this game, and they had it right there for the taking. Like I said earlier. I guess I'm more in tune with that reality this year...
February 11, 200719 yr Ramel Bradley could have won this game, but he choked. He shoots 86% from the chairity stripe... and what does he do? Goes 3-8. We lost by three... Don't even give me that...Yeah he needs make those free throws, but who do you think even gave us that chance to lose by 3? Yeah he missed huge free throws but also made huge 3's to even give us a chance to tie it at the end of the game. The way I see it the whole team choked if you want to talk about people choking. They had the game the way they wanted it tonight but no one could make anything...
February 11, 200719 yr Has anyone ever seen Derrick Jasper shoot the basketball? (Other then a dunk, or lay up)? No he does not, and unless its on a fast break he usually doesn't get much assists either...So I dont know if you have seen it, but if you ask others I been saying in the last 3 or 4 game threads I would really like to see Bradley back at the point, and put Meeks into the lineup. Because the defense usually will be there, but we have to have people in the lineup who give us the best chance to score....
