I just went onto https://khsaa.org/. On the main page to the right of the Riherds Scoreboard is Arbiter. I clicked on Arbiter and it asked for me to sign in. I don't have an account. I went in and created an account as a parent. I looked around the site and no clue where to see scores and information.

It sounds like some of you already use Arbiter. Are you using it to see sports scores? How are you using the site?

No, the Riherd's/KHSAA scoreboard will function as is until June 30, at which point it will change over to something operated by Arbiter.

Arbiter is a program originally used to pay officials but now allows coaches to load rosters, develop schedules for games and practices, keep track of physicals and trainings and any number of other things. The scoreboard will be something else entirely but you won't be able to connect until July 1.

Awful news all around. Horrible to hear that Frank has ALS, I can’t imagine the difficulty for him and his family. The scoreboard has been a true jewel for the state, an invaluable resource. Sadly, I

What would be nice is if Arbiter would buy Riherds software/systems and build on it.

Just a thought here, with all that Mr. Riherds has done for the KHSAA and high school sports, it would be nice to see him inducted into the KHSAA Hall of Fame, so that he could receive the due recognition. In my opinion, that would be an honorable thing to do!

Will Arbiter be as accessible as Riherds?

No login. Click on the KHAAA link and you are on the site?

We will never be that lucky.

Hate to hear this about Frank. He is a great person and has been such a tremendous asset to Kentucky High School athletics. I wish they could find someone to carry this tradition on to honor him.

What a shame... Can't say I have confidence KHSAA will replace this with something better, but its far superior to CoachT.com or the conference websites Cincinnati + the state of Ohio use.

I am crossing my fingers and hoping the KHSAA will come through with something workable, especially for football.

If they don’t put something useful on their they might as well close the site because I’m sure 99% got on there for the scoreboard the only other thing I’ve ever looked at is future alignment every couple years.

I don't know if he is but if he is not, he should be in the KHSAA Hall of Fame this summer! No questions asked! If he is already can someone, please let me know.

An awesome part of it too was seeing the RPI and all that breakdown. I have zero faith in Arbiter. It’s awful to navigate.

Frank was inducted this year as a member of the Riherd Family. Here's their official Hall of Fame citation from the KHSAA's site:

Riherd Family (Contributor/Riherds Sport Shop, Riherds.Com, KHSAA/Riherds Scoreboard)

For more than 50 years, the Riherd family, a longtime fixture in Smith’s Grove, has been a key supporter and contributor to the KHSAA, providing services that have benefited its student-athletes, coaches, and community. The late Frank B. Riherd was a long-time supporter of the KHSAA as the owner of Riherd’s Sports Shop and was the Association’s trophy supplier for more than two decades. His daughter, Lily, and son, Frank T. Riherd, served the Association with its trophy needs for several years as the senior Mr. Riherd headed toward retirement. Frank T. then collaborated with the Association staff and was the lead engineer and developer of the Riherds/KHSAA Scoreboard, starting with the 1997-98 school year. Frank T. also served the Association on a daily basis as its web developer, building many internal tools for the Association’s daily management, and continued to manage the trophy operations for the KHSAA in conjunction with Riherds.com through the 2023-24 school year before transitioning to its current ownership group. Preserving his legacy by continuing a scoreboard for the member schools, their student’s coaches and community is the best way to show appreciation for this family, and that scoreboard project will continue to bear the family name. This induction honors the Riherd family, in particular Mr. Frank B. Riherd, his widow, Ora, his daughter, Lilly, and his son, Frank T., who labored daily in support of the KHSAA.

I spoke with an employee at the KHSAA who definitely qualifies as someone directly in the know about what's going on with the Scoreboard, and they told me that "all of the information that we have currently [on the Scoreboard] will be transported to the new one [Arbiter]." They also said that "this is extremely precious to him [Commissioner Tackett] to have all of the data transferred over and have a website which will go more in depth than the current scoreboard."

I'm hopeful.
