Here's another angle. Makes the whistle look worse, in my honest opinion.

You can clearly hear the whistle in that, so it was definitely correct in terms of the call.  It just remains so bothersome that it was the most punitive outcome possible for Corbin.  Best case of course is that Corbin gets the ball but worst case would otherwise have been Boyle facing a 2nd and 30 (or so).  The whistle hurts them the absolute worst. A bailout of all bailouts.

  • Actually, Boyle is 5-4 vs Corbin all-time with the first meeting in the 1977 playoffs (a Corbin win).  Boyle has won 5 of the last 6 meetings.  They are heavy teams have met in the state championship

  • Needs an official in the background with a whistle!

  • I’m a Boyle fan and I will say that is a hell of a way to lose.  If it were the other way around I would have been furious.  I was on the sideline and heard the inadvertent whistle although the ball s

Seeing that view hurts even more. As that whistle happened not even a half a second before Corbin recovered the ball. I understand the rule, but man this is bad. Especially since the inadvertent whistle that happened a half a second early had zero effect on the play, as it didn’t cause a player to stop playing or anything. If that whistle happened to where players stopped playing, that is one thing. That whistle had zero effect, and literally a half second before Corbin recovered it. Sometimes I wish just let common sense prevail, as that should be Corbin’s ball. Boyle mishandled the snap, Boyle failed to jump on the ball correctly, yet Boyle is the one who benefits for a ref blowing his whistle a half second early, when it had zero effect on the play.

Boyle is like the Patriots dynasty or Chiefs dynasty. They get all the calls.

Kind of like Covington Catholic last year when they played Boyle.

Corbin should be in championship game - that’s a steal there.

That’s a ridiculous assumption.  Was it a bad break, sure.  But Corbin was still behind and would have had to score late in the game.

It’s obvious that you haven’t attended any of Boyles games.  More often than not we are far more penalized than our opponents.  Games with at least 100 yards in penalties and some of the most obscure calls I have seen in a game.

I just am stirring the pot brother. You have a heck of a squad. They are a force to be reckoned with.

To be fair last years play at the pylon is not even in the same stratosphere as this IW, given they both were in real time.

And the better team won, your Rebels. They also will win come Championship Friday. You have a quality team down there in Danville. A true dynasty. Until dethroned, you are the best.

You have to beat the best to be the best.

Well we were good but that day I think you guys might have been a little better.

I recant my previous complaints - it’s not Boyles fault the ref blew the whistle.  Outstanding teams both of you.  Haddix a phenomenal coach as is Corbin’s!
