Meant to respond here.  Armstrong with 3 rushing TD, 2 passing TD, kickoff return and 101 yard pick 6.

I knew it was something wild , just didn’t know the exact numbers.

Ok, now that I’ve finally warmed up & dried off after that miserable weather… congrats to the Birds! They clearly deserved the win and season.

My take aways-

Armstrong is a crazy beast of a player.  Will be fun to watch him the next couple of years.  No way to contain him tonight. The Moeves boy looked good to me too.
Colonels D-line could not answer all night.  Birds have a lot in the pipeline.

Colonels have nothing to be ashamed about. A 2 loss season to this dominant Highlands team is outstanding. Kiyan Miller is an absolute stud. Wow, what a playmaker he is! Jamir Kirtley and Parker Paulson both stood out to me too. Charlie Hull needs to be able to run more, hopefully will use the off season to work hard.   And I think the O-Line has been great all season, those boys should be proud.

Not the night Colonels fans were wanting but a fabulous season!

It’s pretty wild to me that two of the teams best teams players are only 8th graders Amil Wimzie #1 and Jaxton Moeves #13 and the 8th grade just won the Championship on Saturday. I expect a lot of the same at the Freshman level next year. Too Soon?

So Moeves is going to sit behind Armstrong for 3 years in high school? What other positions does he play?

I can't say enough, Bryce Armstrong is an incredible football player and he is just getting started.

Definitely going to be the next big NKY football recruit. Then the next year Wimzie too. These big time talents, including Lorenzen already, is the types of talents Highlands was having when they absolutely dominated NKY and won my state titles, and unfortunately for the rest of NKY that type of talent seems to be back in Fort Thomas now. The Cavalry has finally arrived, and possibly looking at Highlands going on a consecutive year state title run like they used to do, starting this year.

Congrats to both teams on great seasons. Covcath any other year probably wins a freshman title with this group. Unfortunately for them Highlands truly was on a different level this year.

He’s been playing WR and DB all season. Including backup QB. Kids a stud

I have been hearing great things about him just wasn't sure what else he played besides QB.

Get him up there on the varsity.  You never know.  And, it should be a terrific three years watching him play.

He has been getting snaps at WR on Varsity the last few weeks.

I’d be playing this game tonight for sure. A decent amount of Thursday games tomorrow due to Halloween on Friday. I don’t recall, I didn’t have kids, school moving games to the Thursday before Halloween when it fell on a Friday.

Highlands freshmen program is on a tear the last 3 years, they win easily in this one.

I am thinking this has more to do with playing the last game of the year a day earlier and getting that extra day going into playoffs?  Halloween is just a bonus.

In baseball you have the rare talented superstars that people call a "five-tool player" (I.e. Willie Mays, Hank Aaron, Junior, Ohtani)...

If there was such a similar phrase in football Bryce Armstrong would be that phrase.... Unreal performance in every facet of the game!  Well done young man!  The future is very BRIGHT!!!

GO BIRDS!!!!!  #BEATCOLONELS (yes, did that...twice!)

What an incredible season this team accomplished!

Right! All these championships at the frosh level have to start ending in Championships at the Varsity level at some point right? Developing these kids in Jr league and then frosh is where it all starts. Learning how to play the game, win and lose with grace and becoming better young men is priority 1. And I think that is happening, at least that's what I'm seeing. Their time will come to start and contribute as needed at the upper levels. Some sooner than others. These kids are #SCIT.

Coach Abner said it before the game in his talk with the players. He said you work so hard to get to this point, to play in the championship game, to play your rival CovCath. Do your job and have fun. This is what football is about. It's what Highlands football is about. I'd say he and his coaches had them ready!

Great job to Highlands and CovCath this year. These 2 programs will continue to battle and arguably be one of the best rivalries in Ky football.

I thought both teams did some nice things on offense last night and both struggled tackling on defense. Much of that was the weather but some was scheme and guys out of position. Birds came up big on special teams. Both of these teams will be strong at the varsity level for the foreseeable future.

As far as Bryce and playing at the varsity level now, I feel he is being developed appropriately. He has seen varsity action in big games such as Cov Cath, Ryle and Elder. He has also played a significant amount of JV. As expected for a young player, the results at JV and Varsity have been mixed. He is certainly not ready for a full time varsity role like some are saying today on social media.

Bryce is a special player, he is a good kid and a hard worker. He will continue to develop and will be a top player in the area. Let's just enjoy the ride with Bryce and the rest of the Bluebirds. Go Birds!
