The sooner the better, you want the new coach in place to try to keep as many players as possible. Outside teams will be in their ears, probably already are. It doesn't have to be today, but a coach needs to be named by Sunday at the latest.

I would be shocked if they hadn’t announced a new coach by Friday at the absolute latest.

Agreed, I'm thinking as fan prospective, we can't think they hire him in 24hr.

Stein and Hartline will be in the CFP, so it may be awhile til one gets here.

With Stoops immediate departure, can anyone tell me why Barnhart has not named an interim to coach the team for the SEC Championship game, CFP playoffs, or at least for our bowl game?

If Kentucky hires Will Stein even the Cardinals fans that support Trinity would have to be at least a little excited.

I know people knock Barnhart a lot but I can't imagine he pulls the trigger on firing Stoops without a replacement close to ready.

Could the UL debacle have surprised him so much he felt he had no choice but to pull the trigger he really didn’t want to?

Have there been any talk about UK alum Gerald Parker he has been on the staff he was the OC at Notre Dame and has his team at Troy in the Sun Belt Championship vs. James Madison in just his first season.

Hartline is my first choice.

It's a little easier to recruit when you're recruiting for Ohio State in a state that has some of the best high school football talent in the country. Recruiting for Kentucky in a state that doesn't have a ton of home grown for a lower tier SEC school will be a much tougher task.
