Great football game.
Congrats CAL

Proud of my Purples!

CAL has been a machine and not many thought the Purples could hang around.

I'm not one of those people that thinks you can't at least feel some good in a loss. You definitely can. Good momentum builder for Bowling Green.

Loved the effort. All you can ask for is to have the ball with a chance to win. Credit to CAL’s defense they are a great unit. I leave this game feeling better about the Purples. Hopefully we can build on this going forward! Go Purples!

By far the closest game CAL has played all year.

5A is still BG's to lose, as far as I can see it.

That is my thought, the Purple fan in me feels some relief.

I don't know who else in 5A would have beat BG tonight.

Throughly impressed with these Purples, I had valid reasoning to doubt how well they would play this evening yet they showed up and gave these Centurions all they wanted. CAL was very sound defensively, sent some timely blitzes that rattled the Freshman.

BG proves they’re still a big threat for the state title. Gained a lot of respect tonight even in a loss. Their defense is good enough to keep them in pretty much any game they play

Credit to BG.  They had a great game plan & overall, executed well.  They were the most balanced team offensively that CAL has seen & very disciplined defensively.  CAL finally played an “off” game.  They had multiple special teams mistakes & had a lot of blown coverages on defense & BG took advantage.  Once BG gets Barber back, they’ll have an excellent chance at taking 5A again.  This was good game for CAL overall in terms of seeing things they must improve as they go for a 4th straight 3A title.

On a side note, it was great getting to meet @Purple88tonight.  Super nice individual & a great ambassador on BGP for BG.  I really enjoyed our pre game conversation!

Like to know what happened here - I thought BG had nothing to lose here and trap game for CAL…BG isn’t laying down for anyone.  Most impressive loss I’ve seen in a long while.  Congrats to BG?  I think so.

Good game by BG, I agree that CAL had to many mistakes, way to many receivers open than usual which will need to be corrected to go further, our coverage looked very confused at moments. Good win for CAL nevertheless and good game by both teams.

I said two weeks ago they’d fool around and win it all again. I believe it even more now.

I’m sure the BGP rankings will move them up for it, 1-5 team in the top 10 of their class. I understand the dynamic of wanting to be in front of the curve if they end up turning it around, and they’ve played these tough programs I get it, but you have to win games at the end of the day.

It sounds crazy because the crosstown Gators have never held a torch to this Bowling Green program, and I have to admit typing this out it feels wrong but that Greenwood defense could really give the Purples offense problems, especially if #3 is still inactive. They get after the QB very well, I like their secondary too and I believe on 10/17 we’re going to see one hell of a rock fight.

This game was win #13 in a row by CAL, longest streak in the state.
