Getting settled after this one in only about a 20-minute trip home instead of the normal 1:45 trip!

Such a great experience going to this game.  Super nice campus at CAL.  We sat on the home side, as I like to sit up higher to see the plays develop and the home fans were all nice and didn't run us off.  Ha!  Got to meet @Unrivaled97 and he is a super knowledgeable asset for the Centurions on BGP!  Hope to speak with him again.  The pregame prayer is a really nice touch.  I understand some don't want it; fine.  But it is really pleasant to me after a long day to settle down to something I love and hear a composed, heartfelt well wish for both teams.  Well done CAL!

This game started off great for BG with Andru Jones running the opening kickoff back.  CAL answered pretty soon thereafter, but that kept BG right there in the game.  Both teams battled and BGs last drive of the half was really impressive to get the Field Goal.  CAL came out of the half and eventually went ahead 21-17 before BG answered with a very nice drive of their own.  But give CAL credit as their offense is so tough to contain overall and they made a great play on the last TD.  On BGs last drive they did get upfield a bit but just ran out of gas at the end it felt like, but they competed from start to finish.  That is really what I wanted and got it.

No moral victories and all that, but you have to like the young players getting opportunities for BG and stepping up.  Young FR QB Davis made some nice throws and missed some open throws.  That's going to be the deal this season, but he continues to compete and improve and proud of that.

CAL has some very SPECIAL players.  JaHyde Brown is a Power5 guy.  I believe that.  Kellan Hall returned tonight and played both ways and was a force out there.  He has a ride to The Ohio State University.  They don't hand those out like Tootsie Rolls at Open House!  And their QB is a bit unsung, but man he is poised and can really throw the ball.  Still no INTs on the year.  Impressive.

BG must win all their district games.  Period.  @TheBallCoach thinks the Gators will be ready for a rock fight with the Purples.  He could be right.  But it starts next Thursday vs Old Rival Warren Central.  And I'm hoping Travey Barber returns then.  Would be a big shot in the arm for the Purple and Gold.  We'll see.

Great High School Football game!  Congrats CAL!  OH!  LOVED how both teams combined after the game at midfield and said a prayer together!  In this crazy day and age, I love that!

Go Purples!

BG going to be tough with health Barber back.
