After that first year, maybe they get off to a slower start in December than other coaches. But come mid-January, there’s no deficit because of football, and certainly not come tournament time. And there is a big advantage to having that good football program in terms of athleticism and strength. It helps to improve all players in those areas.

Bingo.  What you emphasize in practice and the film room is what you'll get.  Each team is unique.  Some don't need as many sets, while others need them to survive and get quality shot opportunities.  And really, not much different than football.  Teams can have multiple looks/options out of the same "formation". 

Either Tyler or Dunbar (if Dunbar actually applied) would be a good hire IMO. From the names I have heard these two would definitely stand out in terms of what I think Boyle is looking for right now.

Even though it is a smaller scale (even though bigger school), Dunbar has experience dealing with a football first school. 

I’ve heard Atkins from Mercer mentioned by several people. Him and Mcray from Garrard.

Wishful thinking by a couple of people.

I still think it’ll be someone younger unless they create an attractive day job.  Hard to teach full load and do the coaching job correctly.

Most veteran/established head coaches are not in the classroom all day long teaching is my point.  Very difficult to do, and most of the time young guys trying to get foot in the door have to do it to get an opportunity.  Maybe Boyle has something planned for its future coach, but all you see on website are special education teaching jobs.  I think younger guys would be more capable/willing to do that.

Ronnie Bottoms was a great paraprofessional coach for Boyle Co. Basketball.  He led to the Rebels to the 2006 Sweet Sixteen.

Someone has to teach driver’s ed and supervise the weight room and study hall….those jobs are probably already earmarked for the football coaches.

Whoever gets it most likely will only have Seneca Driver one year, because I'm sure he will not play his senior year and enroll early like Montavin Quisenberry did. Other than Seneca who else do they have? That Sophomore class was absolutely loaded with talent until kids transferred out. 

One can assume interviews won't take place until sometime after spring break. 

How serious is Dunbar about the position? Any interest from Ryan Young about the position?

Would Wes Scarberry be interested?
