Do you think they would consider Adams? And Adams them at this point? When Adams took the position at West, I was told that he was only looking to coach another 4 years or so. Similar to Somerset, the 2-3 year outlook at West is better than at Boyle. But unlike Young, Adams has a short window and would be rebuilding during that period. I would think it would be a much tougher sell to him.

Here’s a scenario. Adams agrees to 3 more years with Tyler as the associate head coach/head coach in waiting. Adams coached Tyler and they have a great relationship. That’s a scenario that would make a lot of sense.

Britt changed the culture in the girls program. He’s a tireless worker, seems to get buy-in from the kids and his teams are disciplined. Those are the key areas where the program has struggled the most over the last few years. For those very reasons, I think he has to be in the mix if he’s interested.

I think there is a few basketball teams that could use you as a coach @ChiefSmoke. You have any free time?

Coach Young was in on it in 2019 (along with Coach Webb and Britt).  He started his coaching career under Coach Adams in 2013 there.  Not sure he would with what he’s got going at Somerset.  They have a good nucleus coming back next season.  I know he wants his brother in the school district with him though.  He commuted to help him this year Lincoln Co.

Talk about full circle.  Coach Webb and Young was on the staff with Coach Adams coaching Hagen Tyler!  Hagen was a stud of a player.

Wasn't he fired at Mercer?  What were the reasons behind this firing?  Wins and losses or issues within the program?

I love my hometown. They were super to my Dad when we got here(Mercer Co.) and it was a great place to grow up & play HS football. 

Being the Titan football coach or boys basketball coach, post merger, has been a TOUGH gig, especially for a young coach. 

My seven years as HFC of the Titans, great experience but most definitely a challenge, even bringing 23 years of head coaching experience to the table. 

If anything, I would anticipate Coach Britt is a much wiser and better coach than his days as a Titan. And, I am not saying he was bad back then... I have no idea. 

As I said earlier in this thread, the Rebels are going to get a really good basketball coach that recognizes the enormous potential of the job. If that turns out to be Coach Britt, sure do wish him the best. 

My Boyle County basketball memories go back to summer youth camp with Coach Gippy Graham and THE Jack Givens. Still remember that camp very well. I was an awful basketball player but was a great experience.

Are the football coaches making the call on this one?  I know Coach Laffew is the AD.  I've not heard much on it.  

I doubt if they'll hire someone who doesn't go along with the year round football training.  IMHO that limits the number of really good coaches who'd consider it.  Most top coaches want complete control of their program during basketball season.  

Is this the only job in the 12th opened right now? I just figured this job would be one many would want. So far it seems to be kept really quiet.
