When St. Henry initially announced their timeline for the creation of a football program in the fall of 2022, they slated their school's middle school football program to open for the 2024 season, JV to follow in 2025, and varsity football to begin in 2026. Within 6 months their football timeline was revised to have them scheduled to begin competition at both the middle school and high school froshmore levels in the fall of 2024, and then varsity football was slated to hold its first season in the fall of 2025.

Last year the Cru had 47 players from all four grade levels on their final roster (4 Sr, 13 Jr, 9 So, 21 Fr). With underclassman accounting for over half of the program, their froshmore team was only able to assemble a five game schedule. After two games were canceled, the froshmore squad finished with a winning record of 2 wins and 1 loss. On the junior varsity level, the team got off to a hot start, winning the first two JV games in St. Henry football program history, but then they finished the season with a complete drought for wins, ending their inaugural JV season with a 2-7 record. With the exception of their one venture into interstate competition against Cincinnati's McNick high school, the Crusaders kept things respectable on the scoreboard in all of their games.

With luck, Coach Odom and his current 7-man assistant coaching staff will have 43 players returning to their roster for the start of varsity play in 2025, plus incoming freshmen rising from their yearling middle school program to add to their numbers.

Given their programs early stages, the lack of "big football news" coming from Scheben Drive shouldn't be surprising to many at this time of year, but it's going to be exciting to see what the Cru will have to offer in their first varsity season this upcoming fall.

I agree, other than having to play Beechwood, I love that schedule for St. Henry.

How many teams are in this district now after this 2 year realignment?

I also think this is a very good schedule for its first varsity years. Good Luck going forward.

Six teams: Beechwood, Bracken County, Gallatin County, Owen County, St. Henry, and Walton-Verona.

Is that really what their field looks like?  Football, soccer and LaCrosse setups makes for a busy playing surface, visually.

Here's an actual aerial photo of the field from Motz Group. They installed the field. They alternated colors for the soccer and lacross field markings (they typically do), so it looks a lot less busy.
