It is not Red Helmet Sports.  There was live video of LCA/Mayfield last year and the game this year.  Last year's video has 12K views, this year's video has 6K views.  It is not video and anyone saying so is lazy and uninformed.  Furthermore, at this point if you go away from the Red Helmet Videos I think you run a real chance of alienating a lot of fans.

Man it was ELECTRIC as announcer said last year just not sure what happened this year?....red helmet does provide a good service for those that can't attend the games especially out of towners...but I can see were streaming can hurt certain schools gate profits...and elect to not stream...thanks for reminding me of how ELECTRIC it was last year...

Beechwood has tried that over night travel and it was a disaster. What led to the LCA domination is LCA is better than Mayfield.

First, the generation of fans that started this ride 50 or so years ago have gotten older. Many of them  cannot physically make it to the game, but now they get to see the game because of a livestream. There has to be a place for that (imo).

Second, more people are watching Mayfield football games than ever before because of a livestream. Lincoln Suiter’s grandmother sent us thanks because she got to see him play. She lives in Brazil, but she saw every kick. There has to be a place for that (imo).

Lastly, this is the first time that I can remember people talking about crowd size after a loss  MORE than the execution on the FIELD! We lost because of our play on the field, not the crowd or the livestream. This is, of course, strictly my opinion. ?

Right, Mayfield/LCA was electric last year because most of us "knew" Mayfield had a good chance to win 2A.  Or at a minimum, that it was really close between LCA, Mayfield, Beechwood, and OCath.  This year, exactly like @Astro Domino said (Anybody that thought Mayfield was going to make some noise this year was delusional. Point blank period.) most of us "knew" Mayfield was not near as good.  Of course there was a much bigger crowd last year and roughly twice the amount of people watched the stream of the game last year with no one complaining about the stream hurting attendance.  Again, anyone blaming a poor crowd on streaming is short-sighted.  On top of all that, we are talking about public schools (because like with most other things the private schools are pretty squared away on this issue) that are funded by the public.  In other words, we pay for them, we should be able to see them.

You are spot on, @GBR!  Yes, there has to be a place for the old among us to watch these games and there has to be a place for people beyond the city of Mayfield to watch these games.  And you nailed it at the end, the issue for Mayfield this year was the play on the field, not a livestream.

Generally speaking for the Beechwood powers that be, if someone has a 7th or 8th grade stud football player and they are thinking about where to send them to high school in NKY, the choices right now are Ryle, Cooper, Highlands, CovCath, and Beechwood.  Ryle streams every home game, Cooper allows home games to be streamed, Highlands streams every home game, CovCath streams every home game, and then there is Beechwood saying no can do with the wind chill at 18° when the game starts.  It is a huge negative for Beechwood and anyone considering sending their child to school there.  It is the little things everyone, they add up.

I think if teams are able to put together a quality stream, monetizing that could be a nice boost for athletic revenue.  Right now many teams do it for free but I wonder if you could sell a season pass or something.  But quality varies on these things.  I had NFHS last year for Danville but the streams weren't good and for sports like volleyball/basketball you have no idea what's happening without a score/clock overlay.

CovCath does exactly that using Boxcast and the videos are awesome.

Can someone confirm the game time?   KHSAA is showing 7p, again this week, is that right or is it at 730p?

I talked with someone semi-official, the Beechwood Authority, the Beechwood AD through a trusted 3rd party, and read what Beechwood Sports Radio said, the official start time is 730pm EST and the Scoreboard is wrong.

I can also confirm 7:30 start time.

I like the variety of Beechwood's offense to win the night. They've got "Cool Hand Luke" at quarterback, distributing the ball in a myriad of ways to a dizzying array of playmakers, including Flahrety, who's been a dog the last couple of weeks. I think the Tigers' balance will keep LCA off balance enough to advance to another final.

Regardless of who wins, this should be one to remember, as neither team seems capable of laying an egg at this juncture. When one hits, the other will return fire.

Obviously, I like Beechwood in this. I think, no I know tonight will be the biggest crowd the tigers have had all year.

Everyone knows Beechwood is fast. You can’t cover all those WR and Chase out of the backfield is where I think he’s best. Beechwood won’t leave anything in the tank and I’m excited to see what they bring out.

I’ve only seen LCA play once and that was last week vs mayfield. The QB drops back, then takes off. I expect a great game and I hope Beechwood takes deep shots from the start! I don’t think it’s needed, but if LCA throws a pick it’s Beechwood’s game for sure. Kicker seems 50/50 for LCA.

28-20 Beechwood

Hey Beechwood powers that be, as of right now we have livestreams for 11 out of the 12 semi-final games with Beechwood being the only school that refuses to allow it.  You stink, Beechwood.

That early season gauntlet of a schedule really impressed me the way LCA played. Looked good in a loss to Boyle, then only lost by 6 to Franklin County the next week before hanging 40+ on Pikeville, CAL and Lexington Catholic in those 3 wins in a row.

Add in the game at Mayfield last week where we know that doesn't happen under any circumstance and you've got the makings of scary potential.

I expect a good game as Beechwood has every right to claim victory in this and have also been impressive, I just feel it's LCA in this game.
