Bracken was only up 21-6 on Carroll Co., with 9:00 left to go in the game. Beechwood could have beaten Carroll by as many as they wanted to last night, so can’t really compare scores. Beechwood’s vars

I think I will give the Tigers a slight edge on this one.

Beechwood did not have a running clock on Owen County in the first half and Bracken County just beat Owen County 48-7. I will be very surprised and impressed if Beechwood has a running clock in the first half. You all are not looking at this year's Bracken County team. You are just going by name, reputation and past teams. Average score in Bracken County's 7 wins is 48-5. SOS is not good but they are crushing these teams.

I’ve seen both teams in person. Bracken hasn’t seen speed like Beechwood’s speed. My guess, Beechwood loads the box and eliminates the run game, forcing BC to throw which they are okay at but don’t have the athletes BW does.

We can re-visit after the game but I’m standing by my prediction. I’m saying 49-7 final with a running clock in the second quarter.

Could be right, and I hope you are.  I think BW will get a couple special team TDs….maybe blocked punt….snap is slow and kicks have been a problem….kickoff will be very shallow.  BC will defensively bring the house regularly and Tigers speed and Hayden’s quick release may negate it.  But, BC is not the easy opponents of the past.

I completely agree. This group of kids at Bracken are very good players, especially the RB Tarter (sp?). I just think BW is in an entirely different class.

Beechwood wins in the neighborhood of 56-7. No doubt Tarter is a stud, but if you can't throw or defend the pass, Beechwood is a nightmare matchup.

For those of you who have been to both Owen and Bracken's facilities, which is better?

How many grass fields has beechwood played on this season so far? What kind of field condition is the Bracken County field in?

Agree with VOR.  This will not be a shutout nor a running clock.  Dalton Tarter is a load and the type of challenge the Tigers D needs.  BW will win by something like 35-12 (probably 2 failed X pts).  Anybody know how close Fryman is to returning?

I have seen both play. Bracken as a good team. However,  would be very surprised if it’s not a running clock. It may not happen as quickly as the other district games for Beechwood. However, I do think it will be a running clock. I also would be surprised if Bracken scores. Tarter is a great back, but IMO there is not much to worry about in regards to Brackens passing game. So a team like Beechwood should be able to truly key on Tarter.

Bracken has a very good team compared to previous Bracken teams and should be good again next year too. With that said while the final scores show Bracken as crushing teams. As someone mentioned they were only up 2 scores on Carroll going into the 4th. It was also just a 14 to 7 game at half against Walton. Eventually Bracken wore both teams down, as both of those teams offenses struggled and gave the ball back to Bracken all game. Bracken doesn’t have that luxury against Beechwood. So while I know many Beechwood fans would love to see a district team give them a little more competition. I don’t think this will be close at all. Maybe not running clock in first half, but definitely by early in the third quarter IMO.

It can’t possibly be worse than Owen County’s field, that field was awful.

Tiger fans will probably be disappointed in Polar Bear facilities.  Grass crowned field with poor PA system and very few stands for visitors.  Hamburgers are good, but overall concessions are sparse.

You had me at "hamburgers are good"!  That's all you need...

As I say.....a whole bunch to not many. Bracken has a nice team..... Beechwood has a terrific program. Too many weapons.

Going by my last times at each I would say Bracken County’s is better.

Who field is in better condition at the moment Bracken or Owen?
