Maybe CCH has BETTER PLAYERS. You can scheme any way you want, but players need to make plays. I'd imagine this is the Beechies last real test for a while.

From what I witnessed the teams were pretty evenly matched outside QB. Cash Harney settled that debate IMO. The speed at QB just was too much. Set the tone and with Gaiser’s speed was just too much too handle. And the Boz broke it down like someone with actual street cred and it matches what I saw. Definitely not a Noel Rash D. But I’m just a Hot tub QB so what do I know? ?

Beechwood got out coached badly and it shows. I’m not sure what we’re doing when they line up under center with 2 backs in the backfield and tight end. They’ve ran that formation for years now and it’

Give it a rest on the QB stuff brother. We all know you love Cash. And he can certainly run the ball, not saying he can't. But that isn't why CCH won this game. I agree with the rest of what you

Great game Cov Cath! Totally controlled the game from start to finish.

Zero punts in the game for CCH. Did they get to 500 yards rushing? It sure felt like it.

I just read through the game thread and tallied in my head and I think I came up with 487 yards rushing for Cov Cath.

I agree with the rest of what you say here.

And to your further cred, your favorite Beechwood line did not get handled like this team's line did tonight. Now that's a debate that got settled tonight.

If that number is accurate within a 100 yards, something needs to change in Ft Mitchell.  But the staff looks good in black!

That’s embarrassing!

Always been a Cash fan. And I'm not dissing on Hayden here. Great talent. But Cash creates and is multi dimensional. To me that is what the difference was on the field tonight.  569 yds offense?  Teams don’t do that often. I’m sure that young man will lay his head down tonight feeling that this one was a little more special due to his benching at Beechwood. Is what it is.

And yes, the battle up front was pretty lopsided. Kudos to CCH on winning the oft overlooked battle that wins games. The trenches.

Takeaways. Both teams will be fine. Always a fun matchup. ✌️

I came up with 154 for Harney (including a 48 yard run and 66 yard run), 234 yards for Gaiser (including a 37 yard run and a 68 yard run), 74 yards for Bessler, and 25 yards for Pitzer.

154+234+74+ 25 = 487

Could definitely be off though, so don't hold me to anything, we'll see what the official stats look like when those are reported.

Congrats to CovCath on the convincing win.

Talk about “straight shooting”…not much more to say / kudos to the Blue Colonels for getting it done.

I was impressed with the ? - solid work all the way around & best of luck the rest of the way.

Is it time to talk a little about the “elephant in the room”?  Jay Volker came to BW heralded as somewhat a defensive savant.  The two years prior to his arrival the Tigers won state championships allowing an avg of 7 and then 8 pts per game.  His first season they allow 15 per game and lose in the semis allowing 31 pts to a great offense at Mayfield.  His 2nd season the Tigers are now allowing an avg of 28 pts per game through 5 with no team scoring less than 3 TDs.

Granted that BW has always had a loaded pre-District schedule, but allowing 490 rushing yards and +560 total yards to CCHS with apparently no defensive adjustments that remotely worked, could there be a little tarnish and question marks due the Savant?

IMO-It would of been neat to see Beechwood have Fryman and Erdman for the game, can’t say the outcome would of been different in win/loss column, but do feel the game would have been a different style of game.

Bad timing for Beechwood, but that’s how the game goes, as for “Better Athletes” comment earlier made in the chat, I’d put those two players up there at the top with any others in the game last night.

I really like the way those blue helmets pop off those black uniforms.

I just checked the official stats submitted to the KHSAA. Gaiser had 17 rushing attempts for 241 yards and 1 touchdown, Harney rushed 16 times for 155 yards, Bessler rushed 6 times for 70 yards and 2 touchdowns, and Pitzer rushed 4 times for 24 yards and 2 touchdowns.

241 + 155 + 70 + 24 = 490 yards

That's a new program record for single game rushing yardage. It breaks a record that has stood since 1969 when we had 406 rushing yards in a 47-0 win over Somerset.

Do you know the last time we had two 1k yard rushers on the same team? Cash and Gaiser might do that before the end of the regular reason.
