Defensive tackle would very much be in play for me if I was the Bengals. They need an interior pass rush, and where they are picking they could possibly get a good one. Obviously after free agency tho

If T doesn't get a long term contract, it will be because T doesn't want to be in Cincinnati. With the increase in the salary cap, the money is there for a long term deal.

  • Word now is that he's signing a 1 year deal with the Bengals.

Bengals reserves fall today to the Bears 27-3.

Please God, protect our starters.

Exactly. Backups trying to get a job. Just get us to the regular season so we can start caring about games.

I think the Bengals will let Ja Mar sit this year.   Which apparently would be fine with him and tells me everything I need to know about him so good riddance.   I think the Bengals will sign Tee Higgins to a new contract and trade Ja Mar with a year left on his contract that has little money owed on it.   He would have to play or sit for little money for another year then try and negotiate a new contract with a new team or test the open market in 2026 while being absent from the league for two years.

I'm sorry I'm old and worn out and hate seeing these guys cry over being "slighted" by money they make in three years the vast majority of us won't see in a lifetime or two. He can't throw the ball to himself; he can't block for himself, and he can't defend 11 people by himself.   He needs other people on his team to do these things.  His actions are squeezing their paychecks.   This kind of stuff is a slap in the face to his teammates and the fans that's that ultimately root for him and pay his salary.  That's why I say good riddance!  Sorry for the rant.

I agree Chase will sit out a few games, hoping Brown will buckle.  I might be wrong, but does sitting out the year earn him a year of credit toward completing his contract obligations.  I might be wrong, but don’t think so.  He has zero ammo in his guns and Brown has rarely succumbed to fan pressure.  Candidly, Chase is unique from Lamb and Jefferson who had already completed four years on their rookie contracts and were/are entering their 5th year team options.  Chase is trying to push the envelope prematurely by a year.  This is going to get ugly for fans and Chase.  Not so for Brown unless we stumble out of the gate again.

Is this a fair price?  Would you do it?

Totally surprised there is so little apparent support for Chase’s hold-in.  On the other hand  Brown’s inactions of no movement are not a surprise and honestly expected. Chase has 2 years left under contract with somewhere in the neighborhood of $23million yet to be due and paid for seasons 2024 & 2025.  Makes zero economic sense for the Bengals to do anything this year.  Going to get ugly unless Chase dramatically reduces his expectations.

Bengals have no chance without Chase.

I wouldn't go that far.

Having the history of sitting for a full year under his belt and knowing he can’t earn NFL contract time without playing this year, I fear the proverbial strained achilles or lower back injuries that are just enough to keep him off the field.  Getting uglier by the day.

Chase at practice and participating according to WLW sports.  Good news?  Or just preliminary to  mysterious injury?

Good news!

Now on to the bad news other than I would love to see Samaje back.

Just saw on ESPN that the Bengals final 53 man roster kept all 10 of their 2024 draft picks plus 1 undrafted player.  My question is how is this remotely possible?  I can’t pretend to be able to keep track of that many fine tuned athletes.  But for a rumored Super Bowl contender to release that quantity of experience for 11 rookies just gives me pause.  Anyone else’s shackles raised?
