Clemson 38 Kentucky 35

Featured Replies

Final. A wild 4th quarter and the defense just could not make a stop on the last drive of the game. The Tigers had a 3rd and 18 on the final drive in going in for the score.  Clemson finishes the season at 9-4 and the Cats finish at a disappointing 7-6. The Cats had 4 turnovers all in the 4th quarter and 3 of them by Leary. He had overall after all of the hype a very disappointing season.

Leary can't leave soon enough.  Never understood his hype.

I kind of thought this one could go either way. I wasn’t comfortable picking a winner.

This game is another good example of what I always say about a prevent defense. All it does is prevent you from winning.

Two things:  They Hype around a 5 year QB snatched up in the portal is exactly that hype. There is a reason he’s a 5th year QB in the portal. If he was any good he’d be in the league. Leary was terrible per usual today, he either throws a rocket or a lob, behind or way out in front. Hopefully the guy from UGA will stick for a couple years and be much better.

Prevent defense is so insanely stupid!!! When they were being aggressive Clemson QB didn’t have time to blink, then we go 3 man rush on 3rd and 17 for seemingly the game. It is so stupid, just keep doing what was making you successful. Our DBs played really well today, trust them to down the stretch.

overall this game was an exact summary of our season. Defense held up their end of the bargain when not being reigned In and the offense couldn’t get anything going because our QB was highly ineffective.

Snatching defeat from the jaws of victory.

That folks is what Kentucky football is.  Play well for most of game and then wilt under pressure.  Time for them to move on from Stoops.  He has taken them as far as he is capable.

Sadly, I think you are correct.  And sadly, most are tickled to death with him.  Just got off another platform talking with a friend who is extolling "a successful season".

Played a three man front for most of the game, occasionally a four man front, not sure what game some were watching, Clemson just a bit better than Cats today, nice season and nobody has ever been better than Stoops in Ky football history!!

I agree 100% especially when it is 3rd or 4th and long. For example the 3rd and 18 on that last drive when a quarterback has to give the receivers time to get far enough down the field to try and pick up a first down why coaches don't blitz and send more than they can block. I will never understand that.

I didn't realize it until they showed it on the screen in Leary's career this was the first bowl game that he had played in. I know he was injured for one and Covid but the other year that he was the quarterback his team was not bowl eligible.

Below are the 9 players from Clemson who opted out of the Gator Bowl:

  • Domonique Thomas, RB (transfer portal)
  • David Ojiegbe, EDGE (transfer portal)
  • Andrew Mukuba, S (transfer portal)
  • Toriano Pride Jr., CB (transfer portal)
  • Sage Ennis, TE (transfer portal)
  • Beaux Collins, WR (transfer portal)
  • Mitchell Mayes, OT (transfer portal)
  • Hunter Helms, QB (transfer portal)
  • Landen Zanders, S (transfer portal)

I knew they where done when Clemson had 2:30 and 3 time outs to come back.   That's just how it always has been for UK.

Why wouldn't you go for 2 when you are up 4 with 2:30 left?  4 point or 5 point lead is the same!  If converted you are up 6 and a XP must be made to lose the lead.  Little things lead up to large things.
