Clemson 38 Kentucky 35

This is just another example of head scratching mistakes by Stoops and company that lead to head scratching losses. Very frustrating. Keep doing what got you to the point of having the lead and the other team needing an 75 yard TD drive to win the game. Why play soft defense on the last drive? At worst we get beat deep and we have around a minute to tie or win the game with timeouts to spare.

Clemson Roster, Class  Rankings 10, 5, 3, 10, 7 over the last five years.

Kentucky Roster, Class Rankings 14, 34, 25, 34, 37 over the last five years.

Looking at the talent disparity, this game shouldn't have been close.

If Kentucky punts on the two possessions that ended in strip fumbles, they probably win this game.

If Kentucky pressures the QB early on that last possession they either give up a quick strike TD with time left to come back or they get a stop.

UK had their chances and just came up short. I hate it, as I hate every UK loss. That said, I'm not ready to throw the baby out with the bath water. This wasn't a great season at all, in fact it was very frustrating. The chemistry between receivers (dropped passes) and QB (off target throws) was horrible most of the year leading to the most inconsistent season in maybe a decade.

I'll put Kentucky football on the back burner for a few months. The expanded SEC is going to be a bear, but we'll deal with that next summer.

Sadly, I think you are correct.  And sadly, most are tickled to death with him.  Just got off another platform talking with a friend who is extolling "a successful season".

Who do you hire as Stoops replacement then?  I think most are happy with Stoops because they're willing to admit that he's about as good as it gets for a program like Kentucky.

Played a three man front for most of the game, occasionally a four man front, not sure what game some were watching, Clemson just a bit better than Cats today, nice season and nobody has ever been better than Stoops in Ky football history!!

My only real gripe is the turnovers.  I don't think Clemson was better, I really don't, but you can't turn the ball over 4 times in the 4th quarter and expect to win the game.  It just doesn't happen and yet the Wildcats were in it until the very end.
