For anyone who was there...do I have it right that the officials kept sending Scott County players out of the game for their pants being too short?

Yes they were according to guy doing the game said over 20+ Scott Co. kids and I think 3 or 4 from Cooper. (I didn't see that many but I was going back and forth to several games and did not watch the entire game) I don't know why now I am no big fan of Scott Co. but they have those uniforms for 6 or 7 of their games and nothing had ever been said. Not that it would've mattered but Scott Co. ran the kickoff back for40 yards that was called back by a hold and it was all downhill from there. I think they had around 15-16 penalties for close to 200 yards.

That's simply not true. At least not the coach’s part. No coaches had to be separated. Two Scott County players started running in throwing punches at Cooper players in the line and coach’s from both

If we can't have a handshake line after a game, we are failing in sports.

They always can’t handle it when they don’t get their way….it’s the Scott Co way.

Wasn't a TD. He was tackled on the Cooper 45.

Sorry I read the tweet wrong by the Scott Co. play by play guy it was just a 40 yard return he said was called back by a holding call.

Cooper will play Southwestern.

Congratulations Cooper!  Just a HUGE Win!

Not totally shocked at the extra-cirriculars with SC.  The scrimmage with BG in August was a little chippy when it shouldn't have been.

Would love to see a Highlands vs Cooper rematch. 5A results tonight around the state were interesting. Congrats again to Coach Borchers and the Jags!

Very impressed with the game plan, play calling and coaching by Coach Borchers and the rest of the Jag coaches!  Each week the team is well prepared!! Go Jags!

What region were these refs from?

So I'm going back and watching the NFHS broadcast. For anyone who was there...do I have it right that the officials kept sending Scott County players out of the game for their pants being too short? I just saw a PAT at for Scott County at the end of the 3Q where the white cap made the kick holder leave the field because his knee was visible below the cuff of his pants while he was on one knee for the hold, and that apparently means he's in "improper equipment" and has to leave the field until his equipment can be rectified.

The second that happens it’s a dead give away for me the officials are going to be worried about everything other than the actual game.

The short pants issue happened in the Beechwood game also. One player for Beechwood was sent off the field two different times. An official sent him to the sideline, the player did nothing to his uniform and came back on the next play. The player had white leggings on under his white pants so no idea how the official could even tell if the pants were creeping up his knee.

Congrats to Cooper on a fantastic road win!  It's a shame that this game has been shadowed with drama, but it's a good "survive and advance" lesson heading into the regional final.  Wishing them luck going forward.

All knee pads were clearly in but the refs clearly didn’t like them riding up above the knees. Normally, most refs will warn the coaches BEFORE the game even starts. This crew was clearly out to make a statement that’s for sure. As someone stated earlier, the Cooper players were taping their pants down so they didn’t ride up and they didn’t seem to have a problem after that.

It was a wild scene to start the first drive for both teams. Players being told to leave the field left and right.

That should have been addressed in the pre-game conference and the umpires check of equipment in question.

I guarantee someone addressed this to the commissioner and staff and crews were sent a "reminder" about this.
