Not sure what Freeman was thinking going for it on 4th & 11.  I want him to succeed at Notre Dame but he's had lots of issues.  Blew the bowl game against Oklahoma State, had 10 men on the field twice vs. Ohio State, awful losses last year to Marshall and Stanford, etc.  Only good win of his tenure so far was vs. Clemson last year.  Running out of chances in my book.  Just unfortunate to see the Irish eliminated from the playoff in the first 6 games of the season.

I thought going for it on 4th and 11 on their side of field looked like a desperation move. I would have punted there since was still good amount of time on clock. I think Freeman maybe on the hot seat after this loss.

Yep. When they lined up to go for that I knew it was over, and they did too. 

It was actually kind of wild seeing Hartman crumble under the pressure again. The crowd was in his head early. After he threw a puck on the first drive, there was blood in the water and Louisville never looked back.

The ND play calling, especially in the first half was horrendous. They’re trying to get cute with their shiny new toy at QB. They don’t have the stud receivers. Use the run game with your stud backs to setup the pass. Quit using the pass to setup the run.

Kudos to UL on the W. I think their overall team speed was the difference in the game.

Absolutely, I think everyone knew it then. One of my friends with me at the game last night is a Notre Dame fan and he looked at me and said it was over before the play happened.

While true, they aren't really facing the traditional "heavy hitters" of the conference.  Not their fault but its nice when you can avoid FSU and Clemson.

4 of the last 7, means you're counting Notre Dame and # 24 Kentucky and # 25 Miami, both of which lost this week.  Yeah, that schedule is intense.

Well, on the other side of that, they officially control their destiny far better now after last night which is a very good place to be and why I gladly take it even more. Yes, their schedule isn’t the strongest but I believe plenty of teams would like being in the position that Louisville is in now versus the positions that they are in.

I believe it’s possible, but I’m not saying yes or no either way. As I said, I think they control their destiny better. They are in a very good position for being in Jeff Brohm’s first year.

He's a young, enthusiastic, high energy coach who can recruit and the players love him, but he clearly needed some seasoning at a G5 school or lower level P5 school before a Notre Dame caliber job.

It's not like it used to be, when a young coach could work their way through some growing pains. There's too much at stake now in the high pressure world of college coaching.

I'm usually content to give a coach three years minimum, so I'm not running him off yet. But based on the online chatter I've seen since the Ohio State game, the voices of discontent are growing louder. The honeymoon is definitely over.

Sam has played college football so long that he may qualify for SSI at the end of the year lol. Good player......but doesn't have the upside of Drake Maye.

He was on the hot seat after about three games at ND. They'll do ok, but have watched several teams this year better than the Irish.
