That game is right up there with the biggest crowd I have seen at Beechwood. Fans lined all around the road up to the baseball field. Every possible spot was filled to the brim. Glad the game lived up to what the crowd was there to see.

Side note: I hate the way all these sports news highlights are so close to the action. Almost annoying to try and watch. I don't understand why they don't widen out the camera at least little.

What is the high school intentional grounding rule? Thought there was a couple times a flag could have been thrown but, after huddling, the refs did not throw a flag.

Another thing you have to give CovCath credit for is discipline. Beechwood had too many penalties in critical situations. Did CovCath have any?

#14 Kruer doesn’t seem to get a lot of press, but I thought he did a great job defensively the game against Highlands too. He might be Covcath’s Mvp. A few others get the hype coming in, but this was really the guy making all the tackles.

Totally agree with you in Tate Kruer- one heck of a player. Hope he starts getting some college interest if that’s what he wants.

 Just a low key all around athlete. As is his cousin, Ben McEvoy. Fun kids to watch!

- I thought Clay Hayden was as good of a QB as we’ve played in a few years. Really talented thrower of the football. 

- Legitimate, non trolling question. How old is Fryman? He’s incredible. If he’s 14 or just turned 15 and that athletic, he’s a no doubt power 5 player IMO.

- Really proud of the coaching staff and team for not panicking after going down 21-0 and continuing to play. 

- Tate’s catch in the endzone was amazing and a game changer. I didn’t know he had that in him. 

- As much as I was frustrated at the DC early (no pressure vs empty, no disguising coverage, no games/twists on DL vs a non running threat at QB), giving up only 24 points to this QB and group of skill players is a win.

Holding Beechwood to 10 points in the last 3 quarters is what allowed CC the opportunity to come back and win the game. DC did his job and made the adjustments needed and the players made the plays. Keep working hard Colonels, it was an amazing game to watch. Good luck to both teams the rest of the season!!

Kudos to both teams last night, both great programs!  It’s good to have local rivalries regardless who may be playing one another here in Northern Kentucky.  Turning the page I hope all Northern Kentucky teams and fans pull together for each other and support each respective team here in Northern Kentucky from Class 1A thru Class 6A.  
Northern Kentucky has a lot to offer this Fall going into state playoffs and let’s hope we have as many schools from Northern Kentucky representing us at Kroger Field for state championships.

The intentional grounding rule was change last year or this year. If he’s outside the pocket and not illegally conserving time (officials' discretion) then all is good. It’s a trickle down effect just like all sports.
