From @UKato91 in the Cov Cath/North Laurel scrimmage thread:

"I did stick around to watch the JV and Freshman games. Wow!! is all I have to say. The JV team looked really good and the Freshman team is unbelievable. That Freshman team is huge and will surprise a lot of people this year. I will be following them for sure."

The Cov Cath 8th grade team made the Cincy Catholic Big School final so I’m definitely expecting the freshman class to have some big-time players that can contribute next year.

You are completely missing what people are telling you. There was NO ADDITIONAL game added. Freshman football has always gone all the way up until the last week of the varsity regular season. Then onc

No the Colonels do not know that at all.  Better teams win, period.  Yes, it is that simple, cut, and dry.  Good teams don’t lose and don’t make excuses for losing.  When you lose, you lose because yo

5 of the 9 northern Kentucky football programs that field exclusively freshman teams only get to play 9 games this season. The other 4 managed to successfully schedule 10 games. Think about all the ti

Wasn’t the star of that team the QB? And he is not at CCH!

I'm going to have to try to make a Frosh game soon.  I heard that Pitzer's younger brother Owen is an absolute Beast and is crazy huge!  Should be fun to watch him develop.

The CCH Frosh is as stated previously absolutely massive…..from a height and a muscle perspective…..they are bigger than some Varsity teams.  They are loaded with athletes as well that play with a lot of speed and discipline and can move around.  That team has a ton of weapons.  They will be so much fun to watch.

Yep, keep hearing about these boys. Dickman, Reardon, Cogswell and Vinson to name a few others.

CYF has been producing some great teams the past few years. Coach Blessing and his crew of Woolf and others are killing in in the GCYL!

Very true statement on the Blessing/Woolf coaching staff.  Johnny Lind is another name to watch big time…..

Sounds like Highlands v CovCath should be a good one. This birds group hasn’t lost a game since coming together in 7th grade. Freshman scores can be a little misleading, depending on who’s playing up, but I would guess they’ll both be very good.

My red Colonel lens is interested in seeing the Dixie Frosh squad. Not a lot of talk about them, but how soon we forget that they (Turkeyfoot) just played Highlands for a middle school championship. And credit to Coach Burke and Co. I don't think think any of that team transferred out to other schools or Ohio which seemed to be a trend. Finally starting to see the benefits of their Dixie Youth program starting to filter up to the High School level. They will be competitive and I expect a few close games with the tougher competition.

I will go ahead and get this question out of the way. Not a big issue for me but I know people will ask.

Will Dixie have a true freshman team this year (no sophomores playing freshman)?

Yes.  They finally have a true freshman team this year.

CCH vs. HHS Frosh game this week has been moved from Wednesday to Saturday after the JV game due to the heat. JV game has been moved up to 9am. Games are in Park Hills.

Came here to post exactly that, so thanks for mentioning it, FTLT.

I'll put the schedule for the week together here...I guess we'll see how accurate that does or doesn't turn out to be.
