Interesting to go back and read some of the comments in the "Reds (NL) Over/Under Predictions" thread from earlier this year (including my own).  ?  Currently at 38 wins, they are only 28 more wins from going over the prediction for them.

Heck, I predicted triple digit losses.  I'm happy to be totally wrong.  My wife could have predicted that.

Ha...I predicted 99 losses, because I thought they couldn't even get it right to lose 100 games!

Everywhere I go, the conversation is about the Reds.  Most common line is "Who are these guys?"

It was just in March that Marty Brennaman called this team awful and said it would take a divine intervention to compete for the division.

In his defense, we all thought the same.

What you have here is an infusion of young talent that plays the game hard night in and night out.  That makes the older guys either step up their game or get passed over.  Also shows that paying guys big bucks is not always the answer.  Adding Delacruz did what I thought it would.  Now need to add Encarnacion to lineup and see what happens.

I haven't understood the concern about adding Votto to the team.  If Bell was strictly playing 8 guys and Votto was bumping someone to the bench I guess I would understand the concern.  The reality is that Bell plays 14 guys and mixes and matches based on the opponent.  Why wouldn't you want to add a healthy and fresh Votto into that mix?  Some of these young guys will get worn down by the length of the MLB season.  I for one am happy to see him back.

Diaz has been lights out for the bullpen!

I forgot what you have said in the past about working Reds games.  Have you been working them and if so how is it for you?

De La Cruz goes yard.   4-1 Reds, bottom 3.

Reds plate one more on a Spencer Steer double that score Jake Fraley, from 1st.   5-1 Reds headed to the 4th.

I agree with you.  I think at first glance, most were simply thinking, "if it ain't broke don't fix it".   Nothing more than that, Votto has long been a fan favorite in Cincinnati.
