Open Job: Frankfort

In a 30 mile radius you have Lex Cath, Franklin Co,  Douglass,  Bryan Station, Woodford, and Scott Co. Which all of those teams have winning cultures, and this year they all made it to the third round of playoffs some either farther.  Even with Woodford just starting to create that buzz, you can find young coaches from those programs  that would most likely make a big impact on FHS

Frankfort is a very unique place. There has been some success at Frankfort. Ollie Leathers, Raymond Webb, and Craig Foley have been the most successful coaches in Frankfort’s long proud history. Frank

  • Parent involvement is key, but there should be a limit, in my opinion. Everyone doesn't need (or deserve) access to a program and/or coach. Each situation is unique.

What can you tell us about Josh Smith?

He has coached at FHS and seems to be a real supporter of the school... He maybe a alumni  of the school.  I think he coached at Shelby co as well..

Not opposed to a young coach.  But I definitely don't think it has to be a young coach.

I couldn’t agree more! If he is qualified he should get a chance!

Does Frankfort not care if people are qualified or not ?

Did he apply? If so he would be good.

According to sources, Ethan Atchley is out after one year.

Atchley had success at LCA and Bullitt East! It goes back to the comment HHB made! Not everyone can coach 1A ball and not everyone can coach at Frankfort!

So is this Josh Smith the frontrunner for the position? Who else has applied or been interviewed?

With names like Buchanan in the pool I doubt this is the case.

Someone had to push for him?

I think some folks would disagree on this one!

Yes he has also been at Mason and Paris! Would be a solid hire!

In today's climate and with coaching in general IMO, "qualifications" are only a piece of the puzzle. Public perception matters, especially when community involvement is so critical in a program's success.
