Frankfort is a very unique place. There has been some success at Frankfort. Ollie Leathers, Raymond Webb, and Craig Foley have been the most successful coaches in Frankfort’s long proud history. Frank

  • Parent involvement is key, but there should be a limit, in my opinion. Everyone doesn't need (or deserve) access to a program and/or coach. Each situation is unique.

And if Frankfort knew about this before and still hired him, that says a lot about their standards.

No it doesn’t. It says they were willing to give someone another shot. Clearly he hasn’t made the most of it, which is why they aren’t renewing him. If you want to point to something that’s indicative of their standards, it should be that.

Sounds like Taylor either has an axe to grind with FHS, or Atchley, can not put my finger on it. But it is one or the other.

Probably both. ?

I’d call Coach Buchanan, you always hire the opposite of what coach you had before. He’s one of the best people I’ve met.

I have neither.  I hate it for the kids who will have to suffer through another coaching change after having just gone through that a year ago.

100%. He'd be the first call I'd make.

Who do you think should have been hired in place of Atchley?

Coaching at a Class A school isn’t easy. Most schools like Frankfort have limited resources. Facilities are dated and spread out. What Frankfort needs is someone who wants to be there. Someone who embraces the history and traditions. Yet willing to push them into the future. Coaches that may apply that have been at bigger schools need to understand life at Class A schools is different. You have to be willing to work. You can win at Frankfort, Foley did it.

I don't have an opinion on that, as I do not know who applied/interviewed

As someone mentioned above, coaches like Coach Foley or Buchanan would be phenomenal hires.

Why did Coach Buchanan step down from Mercer Co. I never understood why he did that, but still wants to coach

His name was mentioned in the Lex Cath, Anderson Co job search.

Can’t front, I really hope Dave Buchanan gets this job for selfish reasons.  I think he would be a great hire for Frankfort and will get them where they want to be.   I hope it happens.
