Okay, who is said assistant that started the whole confrontation in the handshake line? He's not a student, so it should be fair game to be named.

  • I agree but I have one thing to say, the Lloyd assistant that shoved the Newport coach should be fired immediately.

  • If we’ve come to the point where we can’t conduct a handshake line in a high school sporting event then we’ve fallen and failed as a society. We’ve failed as parents, as coaches, as administrators, an

I would make the argument that there has never been more of a need for a handshake line. People need to learn how to deal with adversity and loss. It will happen to every single one of us. If a coach

Lloyd has done this all year at times. They are poor losers and the head coach should be held responsible for it.

I remember at the Scott vs Lloyd game the game was chippy at times and at one point the Lloyd head coach was sitting in the stands behind the bench letting the team do what they want,  I guess cause Scott was beating them.

At the end of game there was like 10 seconds left, after timeout and Scott was winning Lloyd players didn’t even come back out onto the court and finish the game. Nice sportsmanship.

Also had an incident in hand shake line with  a Scott and Lloyd player that the Lloyd player started by saying something. Didn’t turn into anything but still was seen.

How long will Walker stay? His son his a sophomore, correct? I wonder if this is a son leaves he leaves sort of deal.

Also, didn’t Newport have an incident with Holy Cross this year? Sounds like a couple of competitive teams. Love the on court competitiveness and rivalry, but the shenanigans from the fan base and coaches is ridiculous.

Just guessing, but I would say they are a package deal.

I 100% disagree with both of you on this.

I 100% agree with your 100% disagreement.  ?

We are too quick to want to change rules, traditions, etc. because a couple of people can't behave themselves.  Get rid of those people!  A coach's job is to lead his/her team both in victory and in defeat.  If they show themselves to be incapable of doing that then they need to be removed.

Also, someone mentioned that players from both teams were seen interacting after the game without issue.  The kids rebound quickly, why do the adults in the room seem unable to let things go?

Because my little Johnny is better than your little Johnny and he’s going to the league. Not to mention, I played 2 years of JV ball but would have been a lottery pick if I didn’t blow out my knee, because of that, I have to live vicariously through my little Johnny!

Seems like another good place to plug Aristotle.
