I think you're correct, amazing.

The 300 block of Walnut puts the incident between 3rd and 4th street.  Looking at google maps, which likely isn't very current, there are 6 cameras in that section that are visible when looking around.  There are likely some blind areas on the street, but odds are if this did happen, one would think a camera picked it up.

 

So I watched the above and another one.  The city of Cincinnati needs to do more investigation and the victim does want to move forward with the charge if the city decides to refile it. 

The city needs to explain why they secured the warrant and now why they decided they need to investigate more before possibly securing another warrant.

From fox19.com, Cincy PD now says they made an error:

Because the case involved “a high-profile individual,” CPD supervisors ordered the case investigator to submit the case for “cursory review” before any possible charge was filed. The supervisors’ rationale was “to ensure completeness of the investigation,” the department statement reads.

But on Thursday, without that review having happened, the warrant for Mixon’s arrest was filed with the Hamilton County Clerk of Courts. A criminal complaint against Mixon and a police affidavit detailing the allegations were also filed.

CPD is continuing the investigation, but the case has been reassigned.

Sounds like higher profile victims and suspects get more attention to ensure the Police Department doesn't screw something up or miss anything that could make the PD or the parties involved look bad.  That didn't happen, so they're still dealing with, more so as a result looking incompetent as a result.

Complete incompetence by their own admission.  First, high profile people clearly get special treatment from Cincy PD but because they are so incompetent Cincy PD messed that up too.  What an embarrassment.
