I don't expect this to be a very high scoring game. Both teams will run the ball and keep the clock running. I believe 24-28 points will be enough to win the game.

Also, for what it's worth, I would put Danville's RB D. Brown up against anyone as one of the best athletes in the state. He has a competent offensive line and is more than capable of dominating a game.

Not at all, Danville is way too unpredictable to guarantee anything. I think Danville is a very talented team who has lost to great teams (and some bad ones). If Danville is on their 'A' game they should win, if they are on their 'C-' game they will probably lose.

I like your explanation I think Metcalfe wins the game but you have convinced me that Danville has a better shot than I probably originally thought.

Such an interesting matchup.  MC schedule is not what I would call a great schedule and Danville is not what Danville usually is but will have the best player on the field.  To me it comes down to if Danville can hold up some up front and stop the power running game that MC has used to be undefeated.  I think it goes down to the wire and Brown makes a couple big plays and Danville gets out with a 21-14 win. 

MC schdeule is soft for sure.  But they did what they were supposed to do, and that's beat all the teams they play, good bad or ugly.  I watched a couple of their games on Youtube.  Looks like they are tough/gritty team.  Ball control, want to grind you down running the ball.  I don't see them throwing the ball much.  They have some good size up front.  Not much team speed (except #5).  They didn't exactly play any offensive juggernauts, so I'm not sure what to say about their defense.

I don't know anything about Danville except what I read on here.  Power Rankings have these two teams nearly dead even, so I would give the edge to the home team.  But I can also see where some think Danville speed will be the difference maker.  Hard to argue that point after watching a couple of MC games online.  Either way, it should be a good matchup.

I remember in 1999 Glasgow played Boyle Co in the state championship and everyone was saying it would be Glasgow’s speed versus Boyle Cos size and size won out and I think it will again Friday night but in all likelihood the winner of this game gets a running clock put on them next week but still should be a good game.

Make no mistake about it, Metcalfe has played a weak schedule outside of KCD, Green County, and Campbellsville, but they are a very solid team. Metcalfe has issues with stopping the pass, but they are built to stop the run. This should be a very good game. I could see Danville scoring a bunch with Brown, but Expect Metcalfe to score plenty as well. 

If you're going the comparing scores route to decide whether KCD or Green could beat Danville, don't forget that Green County lost on their home field to a Somerset team that Danville handled easily.  

 

This has been a very good game. Metcalfe has dominated up front, and should be leading 14-0. Missed a TD on fourth down by about half a foot that Blythe just didn’t get to.
