Danville does exactly what Metcalfe is built to do, run the ball. I think Metcalfe will be able to contain the speed of Danville and march on to the next round. Excited for a big time atmosphere in Edmonton Friday night. Safe travels.

I’m excited for the Hornets.   As a guy who watched the Metcalfe Co basketball team in high school at Clinton Co they were always fun to watch.   
Now that their football team is doing so well, I’m excited for them.   
I’ve watched Danville and they are not as big as in the past and they are not as disciplined.   I give Metcalfe the edge and am excited to hear they will move on

Looks like rain is very likely Friday night in Edmonton. I'd think that plays into Metcalfe's hands more since that could slow down Danville's speed. 

I’m not sure Danville are any good at all they’ve had some mind blowing scores year. I really think Metcalfe wins by a couple scores.

Danville is a very talented and athletic team. I would say if you are judging solely on talent, then Danville is one of KY's better teams. Unfortunately for Danville, winning football games requires more than talent, namely discipline which they can lack sometimes. They have to be among the most inconsistent teams; I think it would be a grave mistake for anyone to assume that Danville is not "any good" just because they've been on the wrong side of a few games.

I respectfully have to disagree. I’m not saying they have no talent but I certainly can’t believe they have one of the most talented teams in the state. Talented teams may implode because of poor discipline and not win a state championship when they probably should but they don’t go 5-6. They have some talent but not near enough.

They've lost to some really good teams: Boyle Co, LCA, Bullet East, etc. So 5-6 looks bad on paper but I think it's fair to wonder what Metcalfe's record may have been against a similar schedule.

Also, for what it's worth, I would put Danville's RB D. Brown up against anyone as one of the best athletes in the state. He has a competent offensive line and is more than capable of dominating a game.

Don't leave out that they also lost to an abysmal 3-8 Whitley County team. Good or bad losses from the season won't be the reason they win or lose Friday, but that score is glaring to me.

Who has Metcalfe played? I think Danville would be 10-0 if they played the Metcalfe schedule. On the flip Metcalfe would not beat Bullet East, LCA, Boyle,  or Mercer. Danville is Danville’s own worse enemy.

I wouldn’t consider Whitley exactly abysmal, IMO. According to CalPreps they played one of the tougher 5A schedules in the state this year.

Metcalfe County would handle Whitley by two or three scores. The vaunted CalPreps agrees with that assessment.  Again, that doesn't equate to whether they win or lose on Friday. Just highlighting the inconsistency in play, along with the fact that a team that isn't better than Metcalfe Co. has already beat them.

Guess we will see.

Well they dominated the same Campbellsville team who beat Atherton, who beat Danville by 20. I also think KCD and Green County very well could have beat Danville too. 

Make no mistake about it, Metcalfe has played a weak schedule outside of KCD, Green County, and Campbellsville, but they are a very solid team. Metcalfe has issues with stopping the pass, but they are built to stop the run. This should be a very good game. I could see Danville scoring a bunch with Brown, but Expect Metcalfe to score plenty as well.
