Does it ever amaze you folks that are big fans of UK and Calipari how they seem to "miss" on these big time recruits? They get here and they are a little underwhelming lol.

Is Brooks a miss? He had a decent career at UK. He was ranked #24 in his class entering UK so he wasn't a top 10 recruit. UK usually has 2-3 higher ranked recruits than #24 in every recruiting class. Tyrese Maxey was UK's top recruit in the class Brooks was in and Maxey was not even close to a miss. I don't think Brooks was a miss. There have certainly been some misses at UK like there are at other schools, but I don't call Brooks a miss.

Yes, Brooks was a miss.  I'm guessing he feels the same way or he wouldn't be leaving.

Well, if all these guys were ranked #24 in their class, I would have to say there were several misses.  Most likely why I ddn't pay much attention the ranking numbers.

Misses? Or recruiting rankings are not an exact science? The reality is college basketball is made up of a few elite guys that will play in the NBA, and a few thousand mediocre guys that will just be another college basketball player.

Just because a guy isn't NBA talent doesn't mean he is mediocre.  These guys would still rule the local YMCA court.

As for rankings, as soon as one of the Elite schools offers a player, they get a big time bump in the recruiting numbers.  Keion was a solid role player at UK, who had a couple big games.  There is nothing wrong with that.  He did appear to have a little bit of an attitude at times...he talked back to the coaches more than any player this past year.  It was probably time both sides got some fresh scenery.

Isn’t Washington’s coach from the Jim Boehein coaching tree and they play basically 2/3 zone defense all game? So that should help hide some of Brooks defensive issues and allow him to focus on the offensive side of things for his senior year.
