Whew! After all that it looks like Verax threw for 262 yards and 4 TD's. So both our debaters were right to some extent. It wasn't 300+ yards but it was 4 TD's. Great game for the young man.

Changing the subject I would like to say it has been great to see the sizes of rosters for most of the freshmen teams hitting 40 or more players so looks to be a good increase in participation this year hopefully teams can get most of those players back as sophomores and through a full offseason in their programs as there is lots of talent out there. Still surprised that Boone and Dixie are fielding froshmore teams but hopefully they are getting closer.

For the record, I just charted every play.

Verax had 305 total yards and 4 TD's and 0 Int.

Yes, 305 yards included rushing and passing combined for 3 quarters. 

His longest pass was 81 yard TD to Coppola. Longest rush was a 46 yard TD. I've looked at it twice to check my #'s.

Moral of the story. If you're going to attack someone for posting "inflated" stats, you might want to make sure they're inflated first. 

Cooper beat Beechwood tonight 35 to 12. I said this in the Cooper/Beechwood thread. However, I will say it here now too.  Beechwood may be the early favorite to be the best freshman team in NKY next year with all the 8th graders they have this year.

Cov Cath's 8th grade team isn't any slouch. They're currently in second place over in Cincinnati in the GCYL headed into the last week of the regular season. They play St. Jude (LaSalle feeder) this weekend, which is more than likely going to be a win.

QB Emmett Queen is still a little on the skinny side, but he can really sling it and he runs well for his size. Son of Ohio State d-lineman Heath Queen.

The 8th grade team has a very solid line, too, including Colin Vinson, Johnny Lind and Ryan Cox. If I'm not mistaken, last year the team played Highlands in the NKMSAA 7th grade championship and lost 22-20 after giving up a 14-0 halftime lead.

No question Beechwood and Covcath will have very good freshman teams next season. But let’s not forget that Highlands won the NKMSAA 7th grade division undefeated last year and beat both teams, CovCath twice I believe. Highlands 8th grade team has not been tested this season and that includes games outside of the NKMSAA against Norseman Conference teams.

I wasn't excluding anyone. All I was doing was participating in the discussion with some pertinent and valid information.....which is sorta kinda the whole point here.
