I don't think you read my entire post. I agree that his stats and a 30+ point victory is one heck of a solid game! I am not taking shots at the kid. Everyone in NKY knows the kid can ball out. Ruffy38 does have a good point...if you're going to quote stats, at least make them somewhat close/in the same atmosphere. Doing otherwise is disingenous. If you're going to post stats. Be accurate or close. Otherwise just don't. It's a bad look. This is not a foreign belief. 

Also, no one counts rushing/passing yards combined and quotes players as "having 300+ yards". Just isn't done...so when you quote something in that way, it looks like something it definitely isn't. Stats 101. My guess is most people outside of this guy's friend group and the kid's supporters would disagree, but totally be appalled if someone else was doing it.

Also, stating that is nothing against the kid. It's again the poster. Let's be clear. The kid is going to be a star on the varsity level.  

Also, would someone please get ahold of the ridiculous entitled parent that heckles the coaching staff nonstop and coaches his kid from the stands. I've never seen anything like it. Dude bashes coaches to anyone who will listen.

Not trying to argue stats one way or the other but here is the TD breakdown I see in film - please correct if it is wrong....

Ryle 7 TDs

2 rushing #41

1 Rushing #10

1 Rushing #2

3 passing TDs - 1 to #2, 2 to #5 

There was a TD called back for illegal man downfield. 

Again I could be wrong feel free to correct me on where one of the passing TDs goes if it was a run. 

Overall great team win - forget what one player does this is a solid team.

He would have a good point, if he was correct. But he's blatantly wrong.

"48-26, I believe it was 48-14 w/ the starters. 

Verax w/ 300+ yards, 4 or 5 (can’t recall) TD’s, 0 INT’s."

That was my post:

The score was 48-26....100% accurate

He had 4 TD's....100% accurate

He had 0 INT's...100% accurate

He had 262 yards (according to his #'s) + 2 TD's called back that were probably close to 75 yards. Again, I'm estimating yardage.

I do agree with you that both programs should feel great about their current and future of the position the next 4 years along with supporting casts but don't think we should disparage kids in places they can see it - I also agree too many positives where they can see can be problematic but I would rather see that than looking to knock them to argue with someone.  

The best part of knowing both is neither has an ego. they are good friends and both support the other in everyway along with being happy for each other's successes. So that would be my takeaway for everyone is they are great KIDS and young men who will have fantastic careers when it's all said and done. 

 

 

No negativity intended. Like you said it is opinion and a small sample size. I think both are fine players.

For the record, I keep tally of Verax's season because I think it's worth tracking. He's on an incredible win streak of 5 years and has put up ridiculous #'s along the way. I'm sure all non-Ryle fans find it obnoxious, which I understand.

Like I said man, I am not throwing shade at any of those kids. This Ryle freshman team has been together a long time and the play very well together. They have gone undefeated the last 2 years with State titles, right? I like to come hear and read about what's going on with all of the talent in this freshman class but hearing a freshman supposedly throwing 300+ yards and 5 TDs every week is just an unbelievable stat line. Then to see it again and it wasn't true, it just needed to be called out. IMAO

I am not afraid to admit when I am wrong. You are right about the passing TDs. When totaling up all the pass plays and yardage I didn't mark the #2 81 yard bomb as a TD on the sheet. So my mistake. I'm thinking his rushing TD got called back didn't it? Regardless, how quickly he made that read  and made it up the field was impressive. 

In your last line, I think you kind of made a point that I was trying to get to but just didn't..... This team is a solid team and has been beating up on everyone in NKY as well as the state since they were 4 and 5 years old. When someone post over exaggerated stats like there has been about 1 player, one would think that he is the only person on the team. Which isn't the case with your team. 

All stats aside, it was a good win for you all and, once again, I am not trying to take anything away from that win or the kids that won the game. Just be realistic in stats if you are going to lob them out there.

LOL Look man, I'm sorry you don't like being called out but your "estimated" stats for this game was wrong. It's ok to be wrong sometimes even when we don't like to be. 

I’m not sure who I feel more sorry for. The kid who has to live up to these grand expectations, or his teammates who are apparently lucky just to play with him. Does he block for himself and throw to himself?  I assume he plays all the defensive positions too. I have to see this kid play!
