Boise has been trying that for 6 years, look at the OOC schedules for most of the BCS big boys, they have discovered that there are a lot easier marks than Boise. I don't know that its a fact that they have been trying all that hard. Do you. They opened with UGA last year or the year before and got smoked. A lot of teams would play them if they didn't have to play a return game at Boise I bet.

January 2, 200719 yr Unreal finish. It's right up there with Brohm 59 Bush 54... Semantics, but it was Brohm 59 Bush 56! Fantastic game by Boise State. It was incredible to me (and the announcers mentioned this), that Boise had went toe-to-toe with Oklahoma all night, with no trick plays. Then to end regulation and overtime with plays buried on the back page, that was amazing. I wonder how many "offensive geniuses" coaching BCS-conference schools would have called any of those plays at the end of the game?

The thing about Boise is all of their players are very intelligent football-wise. They executed just about every play exactly how it was supposed to be ran. No illegal motion penalties even when they sent several guys in motion. They played a great game and brought out the trick plays at very pivotal moments, thus proving they had confidence in all of their guys to run precision routes (on the hook and ladder) and carry out great fakes (Zabransky on the Statue of Liberty). It was an extremely entertaining game to watch and I couldn't be happier for the kids from Idaho.

It was an extremely entertaining game to watch and I couldn't be happier for the kids from Idaho.I agree. I took OK minus the points and at the end of that game I was pulling HARD for Boise. And that just never happens with me.

I do know that any mid major team going 12-0 or 11-1 every year like Boise (59-5 over the last 5 years) would take a home an home with any BCS conference team. In the last 10 years Boise has only found 1 BCS taker for a home and home that I am aware of, Oregon St. Wash St gave them a 2 for 1. Over the same period Boise has played South Carolina, Georgia, Arkansas, Wisconsin and UCLA on the road with no return games. The problem with these one game contracts is the opponent may not have a great year in which case Boise wouldn't get any credit for it even if they did win. Upgrading your schedule after yesterday will get much much harder for Boise. SEC, Big Ten and PAC 12 are not looking for tough OOC games against Boise, they are looking for La. Monroe, Duke, Temple etc.
January 2, 200719 yr Great game. First year coach with the biggest you knows i've ever heard of... I have a little connection with Boise my cousin is an athletic trainer at BSU with an option to play next year. He called me after the game going insane.

The average guy would have gone in the tank and Boise State would have been done. I was impressed and this kid is special.
