January 2, 200719 yr They started with UGA last year and it backfired... I like the way Boise St. handled all of the national title questions. I don't blame them for feeling like they deserve a "chance", but I think they seemed pretty realistic about it all. And good call about UGA. I completely forgot about that. But it doesn't change the thought that they should step up their schedule. If I was a Bronco, I'd be thrilled to death with the victory and the season. But there'd still be a part of me that felt a little empty. A great ending to a "perfect" season - but not a national championship season.

January 2, 200719 yr I think the only time I have seen a team prepared that well, was when Louisville went into Miami in 2004....but Boise finished.

January 2, 200719 yr Author Just checked the Phil Steele College Football Preview. He called for Boise to be in the BCS and playing in the Orange Bowl. Solid predicition there.
January 2, 200719 yr Not too crazy...there were a lot of people saying that Boise would likely go undefeated...meaning that they could be in a BCS game.

That is a home field "color" advantage.

January 2, 200719 yr Absolutely amazing. Games like this are what make me love college football. I couldn't possibly think of a better way to ring in the new year than watching 14 hours of college football capped by this one. I hope it ends up on ESPN Classic this week so I can tape it. I LOVE the call to go for two. Their defense played over their heads most of the game but gave absolutely no indication of stopping anybody in the 4th quarter or overtime. You have to make that call. And the play calls were made even better by the context in which they occurred in the game. Hook and ladder on 4th and 18 at the end of regulation, the crazy formation with Zabransky split out wide on 4th down in OT, the statue of liberty on the game deciding play. Awesome. I just wish somebody would invent the technology to be able to mute everybody in the booth except Barry Alvarez. Somehow, I managed to watch this whole thing without ever catching who the other guys were but they were beyond annoying. I know Barry's got a lot on his plate being the AD at Wisconsin but I thought he did a great job and they need to find a way for him to do more games.
January 2, 200719 yr The last play of the game was one of the best plays in football history. (High School, College, Pro, Flag, 2 Hand Touch, etc). The best college football game I have ever watched.
