  • I'll gladly eat crow and say I'm wrong if it comes to it, but Kenny Payne is not the answer at Louisville.

UL needs to hire their AD before their coach. If I was a coach, I would be leery of being hired before the AD. Especially if I am an established coach like Bruce Pearl.

  • Brad Stevens is not an option.

Good luck Chris. I wish it would have been different.

My guess is Bruce Pearl would crawl to Derby City for the Cardinal job now that it’s open.

Nah, Auburn is a better job than Louisville. Didn't you know they're #1?

They go with an interim for the remainder of the season, right?

Yes. It will likely be Pegues.

I think he’d do great at UL. Not sure they will seriously consider him though.

Pearl hasn’t really been the poster child of NCAA compliance. Most other schools wouldn’t bat an eye at this for a coach of his caliber. I’m not sure UL can survive another misstep though.

He’s 61 years old. Appears to have plenty of gas left in the tank but who really knows.

I’ll go with Payne. Obvious ties to the school. I think UL can get him for a relative bargain. Ties to the NBA. He did wonders with the big men at Kentucky. No head coaching experience seems to be the only downside.

It sounds like the Admin may have told the players Mack was out before he had addressed the team, I don't like that.

Kind of the way they do things right? Seems a strange time of year to fire someone. Must be a lot more than Ws and Ls. I guess he's in big NCAA trouble or are big money boosters steering the ship??

They probably knew from Twitter. Wasn't much of a secret.

It's neither one of those. He just doesn't fit here.

I hope that's the case.

I think next coach will be Kenny Payne since old guard want him plus can get him cheap with no buy out.
