Hey Big Bopper, care to give us a list for Tollesboro, I am kinda unfamiliar with the older players. But I would say some possibles would be Chris Harrison, Scott Osborne, Joe Bane, Kirk Ruggles, and Mike Thoroughman? What's some other opinions?

Osborne could play a little but he was too much of a hot dog to suit me.

CenturionDawg, You know what they say about great minds. I debated over Jason Osborne vs Larry O'Bannon and ended up selecting O'Bannon.

Late 1960s, I think.

David Shee also had great success in college. He was the 1998 Captain of the Georgetown Tigers NAIA National Champions! Great person, Great player.

Male also had a kid named Matt Montague who was pretty tough - Male's legacy of players has to be the best in the state.

Clay County

Shannon Hoskins - PG

Richie Farmer - G

Russ Chadwell - G

Russ Farmer - G

Woody Asher - F

I know somebody knows more names than this, but that would be a pretty good squad...

How about the Pennington kid from the early to mid 80's I always thought he played very well when I saw him play.

Chadwell was my favorite of this group.

HOLY CROSS

Point guards- Dave Hickey, Erik Goetz & Burt Pouncy

Shooting guards- Joe Harney, Todd Houston, Don Meyer & Larry Kelley

Forwards- Todd Clark, Turkey Jones, Mike List & Andre McClendon

Centers- Tom Marquette, Dan Rassche & Jason Williams & Jerry Rump

Almost impossible to pick a "starting five" but this thread asks for it so here goes: Erik Goetz, Joe Harney, Andre McClendon, Turkey Jones & Jerry Rump

I would put Troy Houston on the list for PG's, and Mike List at one of the forward spots, along with Dan Lenihan. You could always use Clark at C and put Joe Harney at the 3. I like your team, but if you wanted to go a bit smaller I would go w/

E. Goetz

Td. Houston

J. Harney

A. McClendon

Turkey Jones

I think w/ Joe's size he's better suited for SF, but your team is very good and no matter what it would be easy to fill a team of 8-10.

I keep seing Corey Grace?? He would not be on my all CvCath team..He did not impress me very much He graduated 97' btw

I agree totally. I'm not trying to knock anyone, but if C. Grace is being mentioned as a CCH all timer then CCH doesn't have the history I thought. I'm pretty sure there are 10 forwards or centers that played at CCH that are better.

Troy was a good player, was he better than Pouncy I don't think so but he should be recognized. IMO Joe Harney was the best player to come out of HC in the last 20 yrs. What about Barry Scott? He was a prolific scorer in the early 80's when the Indians wore the sleeves on their uniforms.

Troy was a very good player, but he wasn't a point guard. He was more of a shooting guard although he did run the point at times. I agree that Joe Harney was the best in the last 20 years. Barry Scott was also a very good player, but unfortunately he played when HC was in the NKIAC. It may not be fair to him, but it kinda waters all those points down a little bit. I know he would have loved to play the schedule they play now.

Clay County

Richie Farmer

Russ Farmer

Kevin Jackson 87 State Champs

Russ Chadwell

Eugene Rawlings

All from the 87 State Championship team. Rawlings didnt start but he was very aggressive down low. This team was Awesome, and put the hurt on everybody they played!

Anyone have breathitt's starting 5?

I have been told that three names should be on this list:

Larry Kirksey

William "Boo" Fields

Maurice Hollingsworth (sp?)

Gary Greer suggested these names. For myself, I don't know. He also said something about Hiram Fields not being as good as TJ Dunson...lol. I guess that should be in the football forum, though.
