Notes:

-Several teams were shorthanded this week, making it a bit difficult to fully trust some of the results.  Russellville in particular is not the team that they will be, as key contributors were in the state championship game this weekend.

-Greenwood was the clear cut #1 coming in, and they may be even moreso now after a very impressive week.  They won three games by double digits, including a road win over BGP Top Ten North Laurel.  Cade Stinnett is averaging 27 PPG and hitting 70% of his shots so far.

-Warren Central never trailed in a meeting of top five teams with Barren County, though they were never exactly comfortable.  The nine point win helps cement what feels like a second tier behind Greenwood comprising of Warren Central and Bowling Green.

-Warren East set a school record in holding Cumberland County to just 15 points, the fewest ever allowed in a single game by the Raiders.

-Glasgow has a fun week ahead of them, matching up with #2 Warren Central and #3 Bowling Green.

-South Warren may still not be at full strength this week, but they have the best opportunity to make some moves in the rankings.  They visit #8 Franklin-Simpson on Tuesday before hosting #6 Russellville on Saturday.

Great Job @DragonFire!

Concerning Warren Central and Bowling Green, do you think they have a chance vs Greenwood?

Of course! Greenwood is good, but not unbeatable. And frankly Greenwood has a lot of proving to do before I could bury those teams in that way, particularly Bowling Green. Greenwood is going to get a chance right away to show just how different this year might be when they go to Bowling Green on the 17th. Greenwood hasn’t won at Bowling Green in almost 13 years. They need to overcome some psychological shortcomings there. They don’t have those with Central, but I believe the Dragons very much have the personnel to match the Gators. They’re longer and stronger than they were a year ago. I think the moment was too big for them in the district tournament, and I don’t see that happening again.

That said, Greenwood remains an easy favorite to pick and their play thus far has very much backed it up. Stinnett is rolling, Aaron Brown continues to show his same form from the postseason, and Raymer is shooting the lights out. It’ll take an A game to beat them, but no, I don’t think they are so far above Warren Central and Bowling Green as to concede the race to them. Not yet anyway.

Great stuff!  I'll be paying attention to that December 17th game at BG!
